Lucky Duck Racing’s looked through the All IN markets for the upcoming feature races in our own backyard to try and find some value before the final fields are announced .

RAILWAY STAKES 1600M GROUP 1 23/11/2019

$7.50 TELL EM WERE COMIN; Currently equal favourite . Being a handicap, I always focus on the up and comers at the bottom of the weights. The better performed runners usually perform much better in the WFA Kingston Town a couple of weeks later. It’s last two starts were breathtaking wins in both the Hannan’s Handicap (1400m) and Northam Cup. (1600m). In the Northam post race interview, Trainer Grant Williams stated he would now go straight to the Railway. It was a similar gap between Kalgoorlie and Northam so the horse obviously loves racing fresh. As is the case every year , there are currently a stack of eastern states horses kept very safe in the market that 1. haven’t been specifically set for the race and 2. not even likely to accept. For this reason , I expect him to shorten when the final field is announced. Although this is a step up in class , he will only carry 53kgs and he beat Cup Knight at Northam who has beaten rival The Velvet King. He does rely on a few higher rated horses to not accept to make the field but I would be shocked if that didn’t happen.

$11 Reykjavic ; The 2018 Hannans winner is my other pick. Also on 53kgs , this runner has since gone to Victoria with gun trainer Lindsay Smith and won several races in good company. The fact he has targeted the 2nd and 3rd level races means he arrives here race fit with a high enough rating to guarantee a start but still gets in at the bottom of the weights.

WINTERBOTTOM STAKES GROUP 1 1200M 30/11/2019

$3.20 Trekking; Can only use the market as a guide to the make up of the final field. For instance do you think if Nature Strip was really coming you would get $9 or Loving Gaby $15 ? Pigs might fly! For this reason Trekking really stands out. The one query would be having to peak again after the Everest. WFA conditions however make him almost impossible not to tip. I would wait til he lands at Perth airport then get on if price still available.

$7 Vital Silver; He is already back in his home state preparing after his gallant 2nd to Loving Gaby in the Manikato. That run alone plus already tasting success at Ascot points to him being the best of the locals and main danger. No need to back him til final field in case of any misfortune.
