Startthefriar sees a wet track for the first time when he heads to Pinjarra for a class 3 1400m on Thursday 26th June. The track is currently rated a soft 6 and google weather is predicting a miserable wet day with rain consitant from morning til night. Suited by the drop in class and distance but lumped with the 60kgs it won’t be easy but there’s only one way to find out if they handle it!
Pinjarra r6 cl3 1400m 2.52 pm wst 27/06/2019
Four White Fox; Was dissapointing last prep and trial didn’t offer much hope. Likely to need the run.
Starthefriar; If it was a good 4 I would put my neck on the line and declare him. The wetter it gets the more concerned I become but on form is right in it.
Thunderstrut; Should be nearing peak fitness 3rd up and has some soft form which gives him an each way chance.
Al Di La; One of those horses that is never beaten far but rarely wins. This is a very even field so has minor claims.
Fairy Fast; 3yo filly who had a solid first campaign with 2 wins and a 3rd from 3 starts. Did nothing in the wet first up over 1000m in much stronger race. First go 1400m, wet track are enough doubts for me, can’t agree with her being favourite here. Most likely because Pike is on. Must respect stable though and good chance at best, just too short.
Athlone Castle; Has wet track form and not beaten far last start in same class. Looks a good roughy.
Frosty Bay; Last two runs were good enough to win this, latest was also on heavy track. Only won 2/22 but hardest to beat for mine.
Lucky Linda Lu; Has only won 2/28 but has run a place 17 times. Will be thereabouts as always and trained locally.
Men of Mukinbidden; No wet form and out of form.
Countess Natasha; Would have to improve several lengths on current form.
Mrs Hartley; 9yo mare first up after over a year off. Highly Unlikely.
Selections; 7 Frosty Bay, 2 Starthefriar, 8 Lucky Linda Lu, 6. Athlone Castle.
