Like any year in horse racing , It certainly was a roller coaster ! Starting in the best possible way with Prize Pursuit getting his connections to the winners bar On Perth Cup Day . We take a look at all our horses and a peak into the future of whats to come.

Prize Pursuit ; 1st of January 2023 saw a career peak performance when he lumped 60kgs and made a sustained run from near last to win over 1200m at Ascot , not an easy feat under any circumstances. The champagne tastes all the sweeter from the winners bar at Ascot and it was a moment connections will cherish for ever. The next run was an end of prep performance after a marathon 10 month stint . Unfortunately when he resumed mid year he got a virus early on and it derailed the campaign . He is back in work and his coat is bright suggesting he can bounce back to his best in 2024.

Frantic War ; First up in Feb 2023 he went desperately close to breaking his maiden , missing by a head and firing in a protest for a solid bump he received on the corner. After a few more 2nds , 23rd March was the day he ripped down the Pinjarra Straight 1000m and broke the duck. Stuck in WA’s harsh ratings system he has run numerous placings lumping big weights due to his consistency and is extremely close to win number 2. Nominated to start 7th Jan to give him his first look at his home track Bunbury.

Magnasonic ; The physical growth this son of Magnus has achieved this year is most pleasing. Mentally he is as smart as they come , taking all new experiences in his stride. We couldn’t of been happier with his 1000m trial at Belmont on the 18th December. Could of won but was cuddled to the line full of running with the future in mind. Trials again on Tuesday 2nd Jan with a quick back up on the 7th for the big debut under serious consideration. Wether it’s the 7th or a week or so later , we are very bullish he has a real motor and will make the grade.

Bella ; Our unnamed Playing God 2yo Filly has completed both her breaking in prep and education refresher with aplomb . She’s a big strong girl and won’t be rushed but all signs point to her being above average and the 3yo Spring features remain our dream. What a year her dad Playing God had !

Wishing all our friends , connections , trainers and staff a HAPPY NEW YEAR . May we all be blessed with good health , both ourselves and our beloved horses and may the winners flow.
