The Prancing Pony steps out on her home track for career start 2 . While things didn’t go to plan first up , race experience is invaluable in 2yo racing and the ability is still there , just a matter of her fine tuning her craft.
Race Analysis ; There are a lot of debutantes , so speed maps and form are naturally hard to assess. Also a fair bit of rain forecast in the morning so track conditions are up in the air. Generally speaking the 2yo’s like the rail , being race 1 on pace / rail should still be the place to be. Beyond A Doubt is clearly the horse to beat but has fluffed the start twice now . Merivale Louvain is my pick of the debutantes based on trials , the market has others shorter but she is rock solid at $6. Sign of the Times is well related and trialing well. Tactics wise Pony is blessed with natural gate speed so I’m sure she will be up there early , depending on what those drawn to her inside do.
Betting Strategy : Boxed Trifecta 1 2 4 5 8 ; Most of the market leaders with 4 & 5 the value chances. Leaving out 7 , seems to be priced on Pike booking over trial form , can’t have them all.
