Ascot r4 Black Ora ; If given the option to lead , I’m pretty confident numbers 1 ,5 , 6, & 7 would all take it . This is going to be run at warp speed . Black Ora (2) and Immortal Bliss (3) are the two who will sit back and flood home late. Pike choosing Immortal has him favourite ($2.60) vs $4.40 in early betting. I’m going for the better odds and race fitness. From the wide draw expect Lucy to sit out of trouble whereas the fav might need to secure a run through them .
Ascot r5 Playin it Sweet ; IF she doesn’t get buried too far back from barrier 1 and IF she gets out in time , she is too classy for these. At the odds (2.25) it is a BIG IF , I rate her odds on from any other barrier so will take the chance.
Ascot r6 Territory Man ; This is no harder than the last start win , the only difference is the wide barrier. Pike will have him balanced and ready to motor in the straight and he should be winning on a fair track.
Best Bet Ascot r7 Our Paladin Al ; He is still raw but when he gets balanced he can let rip and 1600m 3rd up is absolutely perfect. Barrier 2 might be tricky but any luck and he roars past this lot.
Perth Cup ; All things being equal Apulia wins however these handicaps over a staying trip throw up surprise results and odds on is just not worth the risk. If something does beat him it is likely to be something on the minimum so maybe include 9 10 and 12 in the tifecta.
Best Roughy Ascot r11 Camera Action ; If you followed us in last time I suggest we have to go again. 1200m first up was always going to be questionable and she was never put in a winning position but was beaten under 3 lengths. Both her 1400m and 2nd up stats are better and she is still in the $20 range.
