Melborne Cup N23 Zakouma ; 24 horses playing bumper cars , half a field of internationals , it’s not a race I bet seriously in but it’s a great day out and great for bragging rights to jag the winner. I threw WA owned and bred Zakouma out as a futures bet months ago and I’m happy to stick. The prep has gone to plan , avoiding a weight penalty with his start assured and ready to peak on the day. The Wizard Pike on board , there will be a massive cheer around the state if he gets up. Another WA owned/bred horse won race 1 with Damian Lane in the saddle , could be a huge day for the sandgropers!
Best Bet Bunbury r5 South Hoba ; Put her rivals to the sword at her 2nd start for the Noske’s , a stable that place their horses to perfection and are on a hot streak. Bunbury is a great for leaders and I’m very bullish she will repeat another dominant all the way win .
Ascot r3 Mystic Smile ; Dropping from 3yo Open company into an All Aged Maiden and her runs in tougher company were good enough to take this out.

Found it very hard to split the two favs , Profit Motive off a breathtaking Maiden win and Treasured Legacy a very brave 2nd to one of the top Guineas chances in Rojer. If they stumble then there are several talented fillies going around at massive prices. Great novelties race.
Ascot r9 Please Mizter ; Has been running rivals ragged in weaker races at Kalgoorlie . Ascot strangely hasn’t favoured front runners this season however nor did the last Kal meeting and it didn’t stop him then.
