Quinella Belmont r3 No’s 3 & 4 : Poblano (4) was a touch disappointing for mine last start. Sure she had to do a bit of work to get over but she had every hope from there and could only grind into 2nd. Draws a touch softer today and wouldn’t surprise me if Pike finds the front or lands in the perfect spot in another winnable race. Desert Ora is flying and going better than the fav imo , just draws sticky in 11 . They are clearly the two and the obvious quinella. SRM (fixed) is currently paying $3.10 on 365 . That seems about right , perhaps half stake on fixed , half on regular tote .
Best Value Belmont r3 Bricini : Won a 5 horse 3yo OMWLY last start at 70/1 to break maiden status , just beating today’s equal favourite Sharpassa . That horse jumps from 11 at $3.80 , Bricini jumps from 4 at $26 . Doesn’t make sense . Heavy place each way looks good value. Penny Pincher jumped odds on when beating Bricini (2nd) in her maiden , now goes around at $31 but has an awkward gate.
Boxed Trifecta / First 4 ; 3 4 5 6 11 ; leaving out half the main chances in betting , huge risk but should pay a big dividend if we fluke it.
Best Bet Belmont r8 Delzee ; Has had 2 starts for a fast finishing 2nd behind a subsequent Saturday 2yo winner and a dominant maiden win. Goes straight to c3 company to avoid the weight penalty , draws 1 to sit handy and looks to have enough upside to go back to back.
