Thursday Tips

Best Bet Geraldton r6 Fearhildi; Just got run down first up so with fitness and slightly easier opposition can go all the way.

Geraldton r7 Woodmans Keep; Top metro stable that don't bring horses here that can't win.  No star but honest against better.

Geraldton r8 Amaliemoo ; Same comment as previous race, multi/quaddie stand out.

Hawksbury r8 Tutu; Racing well as well as on speed. All today's money has been for Dancers but I'm banking on having too much of a head start. The two names suggest a certain quinella!

Multi; System 3 & 4 with all above selections.

Geraldton Quaddie (r6-9) 3,1,2,field $12 for 100%

Sunday Prayers

Best Bet Bunbury r4 My Grace; Promising mare with too much upside for this field.

Bunbury r8 Liquid Man; Should be ready at 3rd run in WA in what looks like a weak race. First up run behind Oliver's Travels who won yesterday more than good enough.

Seymour r5 Skyfire;  Turnball run behind Winx is irrelevant here, length behind Sin to Win start prior very relevant. Fav Greycliffe has ability but ridiculous price differential.

Seymour r6 Miss Vista; First up was massive after missing start and storming home against the pattern over 955m. Better beginning see's it govery close.

Multi Skyfire place into all other tips win $19.32 (tabtouch)

Weekend Winners

Best Bet:Morphettville r6 Embecee Lil; Erupted late last start to run 2nd behind leader and stablemate, thrashing3rd.  This is harder but gets in light and is flying this prep.

Caulfield r1 Our Crown Witness; Typical Waterhouse galloper that likes to run and stun them into the ground. Tipping it to repeat despite class rise.

Ascot r3 Necklet; Was going to be my best but $1.90 is too short.  Pushed Mikimoto who was $1.30 all the way on debut, absolutely spacing the rest. Straight in the blackbook for next start but obviously I'm not alone. Has won trial easily since.

Ascot r5 Stageman; From maiden to Saturday grade is never easy but this isn't overly strong and the well bred youngster won his maiden with ease. Danger is Dynamite Dream who has some strong form around good horses. Good Quinella.

Caulfield Cup: See Post on main page.

Multi; System 2 3 4 On all selections.

Wednesday Winners

Best Bet Canterbury r6 Baysa; Just missed first up when sprouted wings from the back. Suited to rise in distance and was only beaten 2.6 L behind Egg Tart in Group 1 Qld Oaks.

Canterbury r7 Osborne Bulls; Won first 3 starts before being beaten 0.5L behind last Saturday winner Invincibella. Down in class and drawn for a soft run.

Caulfield r1 Khartoum; Been tipped this runner by two separate sources. Small each way at odds

Caulfield r6 Jukebox;  Great race full of chances. The best one may be Jukebox who worked solidly last start before narrowly beaten by Catchy. 4 starts for 3 wins 1 2nd, mostly in high grade.

Canterbury Quaddie (r5-8); Fld, 3 9, 1, 1 2 6 10 12 13 15. $70 for 50%

Sunday Prayers

Best Bet Cranbourne r10 Red is the Rose; Took a few runs to find form but dominated from the front last start and should go close to repeating.

The fact Durrant horses are going to Geraldton with Chris Parnham in tow who rode in Melbourne yesterday says they are planning a big day. The following runners should all go close, didn't include the long odds on ones.

r1 Southern Son

r2 Almaster

r3 Perfect Dream

r7 Sky Atlas (best)

Both quaddies (r1-4) and (4-7) it's possible to stand out all the durrant runners with the field in the common leg r4 for $12 ea.

Cranbourne Quaddie (r7-10)

1 5, 2 4 5 8 9 10 14 , 1 14 17, 12 $42 for 100%

Multi ; Red Rose, Perfect Dream, Sky Atlas win $20.10 (tabtouch)

Weekend Winners

Best Bet Bunbury r2 Danehills Daughter; Has a clear class edge on rivals and if Kersley times his run from the back well, she will be winning.

Bunbury r4 Kia Ora Star; Full brother to Kia Ora Koutou who has shown good ability at two runs to date.  Conditions suit.

Caulfield r3 Miss Gunpowder: Consistent mare who is always in the finish and stable is on fire.

Caulfield r6 Shoals; Should settle closer this time and get a lovely run.

Randwick r5 Jaminzah; Won 3 out of last 4 with booming finishes from the back. Up in class but $8.50 looks great each way value.

Randwick r7 In Her Time; Beat everest runners first up, unlucky not to be running for 10 million today. Still has upside while most of opposition are past their best.

Bunbury early quaddie (r1-4) fld, 1 , 9, 6 9 $32 for 100%

Caulfield quaddie (r7-10), 1 6 11, 6, 4 9 10, 2 4 9 11 $36 for 100%

Randwick quaddie (r7-10) 12, 1 2 4 6 10, 1 , fld $70 for 100%

Thursday Tips

Best Bet Ballarat r8 Ubin Thunderstruck; Weir stayer that is down considerably in class and has a 3/4 record on soft tracks.

Northam r1 Song of Vincent; Races in the Vega Magic colours (go vega!). Put the writing on the wall last start and only has to match that run to salute here.

Northam r4 Quinella ; 1 10. Captain Stirling;Narrow Belmont 2nd to a talented one would usually get the money here but drawn wide opposed to Cool Dynamite who has won three trials, running quicker times each trial. Obvious Quinella.

Northam r7 The Blue Nipper; LDR trainer Jason Miller has this horse up and going, back to a more suitable distance and 3rd up, looks ready.

Multi; Thunder, Vincent win, Nipper place $19.11 (tabtouch)

Wednesday Winners

Best Bet Belmont r5 Reunion Hill; While it's only Kalgoorlie form it's strong form around today's distance.  I have seen as much as $7.50 on offer and that looks massive value. Each Way all day.

Bendigo r4 Gold Blush; Dropping in grade from a strong run on effort and with 3kg claim looks perfectly placed.

Bendigo r7 Sherlock Holmes; Team Williams import who ran a nice 4th in stronger race last start.  They target all there horses at bigger staying races so would want to beat these to warrant that path.

Warwick Farm r8; Zonk ; Lightly raced and trialing like a first up winner. Has already been heavily backed pre post around the country.

Multi ; Zonk win, all other tips place $11.17 (tabtouch)

Sunday Prayers

Best Bet Bairnsdale r7 Dodging Bullets; If 4th to Theanswermyfriend and Mr Sneaky isn't the right form here then you might as well use the form guide as toilet paper.

Northam r6 Danes Maree; Is a best bet confidence wise but comically bookies have wound it in 30c to $1.85 since the news Pike isn't riding 2nd Fav Another Story. (out 20c).

Hawkesbury r8 Itasca; Went down fighting after tough run last start, this no harder so easier run sees it hard to beat.

Northam Quaddie (r5-8), 3 4 5 6 7, 6, 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 11, 1 3 $45 for 50%

Weekend Winners

Best Bet; Flemington r4 Bons Away; All 5 wins are at this distance, going for 5 wins in a row, last start ran straight past a horse with a big wrap on it in Brave Smash. Some people say Smash was dissapointing but times suggest Bons Away is a very smart sprinter.  $7.50 is a ridiculous price, go each way and I'm sure it will at least place. Jockey owes me one after making a meal of last night's best bet.

Randwick r7 Sully, My early Derby tip, might need even further than 2000m to turn the tables on Ace High but at $9/2.70 you can easily still make money out of the place. Go 30/70.

Morphettville r1 Crockett; From one of Australia's best 2yo trainers yard combined with a jockey who can do no wrong, this one won a trial from the back in a canter.

Belmont r3 Just Like Fire; Ran a good 4th in a WA Derby that looked a good edition. Impressive first up winner, 2 from 3 2nd up.

Belmont r4 Entrechat; Handy stayer at this level that looks ready after only fading late off tough run last start. Very keen Each Way.

Belmont r6 Quinella 2,7: Caipirinha flies over this distance and has trialled super in preparation however so has Salorsci and the weight differential makes the quinella the safer option.

Multi : Crockett, Just Like Fire win , all others place.

Friday Night Fever

Best Bet Moonee Valley r5 Miss Vista; The mare with the remarkable markings that look painted on flies fresh and has won over the track and distance.

Moonee Valley r7 Princeton Spirit; Unbeaten and stays at 64 grade with the 3kg claim to offset the big weight.  Races forward and will be right in the finish again.

Quaddie (r5-8) 5,field,5,field $50 for 50%; Going for 3 quaddies in a row, this one looks a lot tougher hence the recommended 50%.

Thursday Tips

Best Bet York r5 Trap for Fools; Having a good prep and has more upside than these, will be up on speed and hard to run down.

Ballarat r1 Mr Hamilton; It's debut run only has to be matched/improved slightly to win this.

Gosford r5 Ruler; It's debut was behind very smart horses.  Has trialed well under a hold for return.

Multi ; Trap and Hamilton win, Ruler place $7.07 (tabtouch)

York Quaddie (r5-8); The meeting is dominated by Peter's odds on favs. I remember a similar meeting last year with most of them going down. York is a tricky track, not handled by many horses. If they do all win then the quaddie will be very short.

2, field, 2 4, 8 $24 for 100%

Wednesday Winners

Best Bet Canterbury r5 Marsupial; Dropping sharply in grade and Bowman rides for top stable.

Belmont r7 Father Knick; Unusual for a Blackfriars to be so effective over 1000m but has too big a sprint for this field.

Belmont Quaddie (r4-7)

1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 , 9, 1 3 4 6 8, 6. $40 for 100%

Sunday Prayers

Best Bet Caulfield r8 Scales Of Justice; If you missed my Futures post you missed the $7.50 on offer as late as last Sunday. Now $3.30, the WA rising star couldn't of been more impressive first up in Melbourne and now gets to a much more suitable track and distance.

Caulfield r2 Quilista; Forgiving last start failure on a wet track in Adelaide where other short priced Weir runners also failed.  Before that ran them off their legs on Debut for Weir ( from WA) and my fav jockey Damien Lane is on.

Caulfield r5 Shoals; Unbeaten and just knows how to find the line first.  Hot fav Catchy will be hard to catch but the value on offer for Shoals is irresistible.

Kalgoorlie r1 Temple Man; Beat hot fav and stablemate on debut.  Meets him again and the prices are reversed as are the jockeys however not as wide differential.

Multi; Scales and Temple Win, Quilista and Shoals place $18.19 (tabtouch) Top tote and top fluc where available might pay slightly more.

Weekend Winners

Best Bet Randwick r6 Chautauqua; Took the grey flash on first up and got it right but not today.  The form guide shows 7th but it was a steaming home 7th that would have been 1st in the extra 100m that it gets today and Redzel isn't there.

Randwick r4 Mackintosh; Hasn't won for a long time and it's Randwick record is terrible, however they have generally been against better opposition and it's first up run was good. Peaks 3rd up today.

Randwick r7 Happy Clapper; Always hard to give weight to the whole field in a group one but after the scratching of Egg Tart it's class stands out like a beacon.  Made Winx earn her latest victory with Foxplay in his wake.

Mornington r5 Toy Boy; Was going to be a bet of the year tip until I looked up the very short price.  Was going to be my best bet Wednesday in a much harder race than this. Multi Banker.

Belmont r4 Pinzu; Beat most of these last start and shouldn't get too far back in the small field.

Belmont r6 Take it Like A Man; I have it down to two main chances with Athlete the other one.  Has a run at the distance, age and Pike to give it the advantage.

Multi 1 Toy boy, Chautauqua , Happy Clapper all win $10 (tabtouch) *you can get slightly better if you shop around or take top fluc etc.

Friday Night Fever

Best BetMoonee Valley r4 Super Too ; Absolute speed demon down from NSW, drawn one over 955m looks very hard to catch .  If leaders win early get on early.

Just the one for tonight, with three days of group one spring racing better pace ourselves.

Wednesday Winners

Best Bet; Rosehill r5 In Times Of War; Has finished in the top two in all 9 starts.  The worrying trend is 7 of them are 2nds.  Has race fitness over some key rivals, can Bowman finally get her to the alter.

Rosehill r7 Mariquita; Has been getting back and hitting the line hard.  A repeat of last two efforts, especially with a clean jump will see it hard to hold out.

Saturday Selections

Best Bet Caulfield r5 He Or She; The clear class runner as indicated by the 61kgs before the much needed 3kg claim.  No certainty but usually improves big time 2nd up and I just think $12 is massive overs.  The negatives would be a hard horse to ride, (generally gets way back, off the bit under pressure before charging late) with an inexperienced apprentice on. Each Way all day.

Caulfield r7 Stampede; Typical tough Waterhouse runner that is rising rapidly through the grades.  Goes up a notch again and is only 2nd up over 2000m but will prove tough to run down.

Rosehill r5 Sully; My early value tip for the Victorian Derby, this horse is as green as grass but when it goes straight it goes fast.  Big test today but has enormous potential. Each Way.

Belmont r2 Money Maher; The "good thing" of the day at a good thing's price.  See it winning better races than this in the near future.

Belmont r8 Diablerie; Was impressed with the ease of it's win last start even though I tipped the 2nd horse!  Can go on with it in similar race.

Multi ; Money Mahar to win into all other tips place. $44.88 (tabtouch)

Wednesday Winners

Best Bet; Cranbourne r8 Villa Rossa; Won on debut then tackled strong listed/group company without much luck.  Oliver rides and will need a good one from gate.

Warwick Farm r1 Epic Rant; Started off in Saturday company and comes here first up after winning trial.

Warwick Farm r4 Social Element; Stayer who is progressing through the grades nicely.  Clearly the one to beat, pretty poisonous odds currently.

Gold Coast r4 Our Nick; Won on debut. Last start was luckless, should of run 2nd and were getting $13 each way in a field of 8.

Kalgoorlie r6 Shibuya Crossing; From leading yard, Pike rides and set to peak 3rd up.

Kalgoorlie r7 Disposition; Has struggled to find best form but that best form would lap these. Three starts ago ran close third to Rock Magic and Scales Of Justice overs today's distance if you don't mind!

Multi; Epic Rant & Shibuya Crossing win, Villa Rosa & Disposition place $10.39 (tabtouch)

Weekend Winners

Best Bet Flemington r7 Hartnell: Obvious at odds on but $1.80 for the second best middle distance galloper behind Winx in Australasia looks good value to me.

Flemington r1 Jorda; Unlucky 3rd behind Pariah who then ran a clear 2nd behind the best 3yo in Australia Menari looks outstanding form against fillies. Flemington looks like an absolute fill up for fav punters however it is usually a fav's graveyard so be wary.

Flemington r2 Royal Symphony; Boom 3yo of the winter who is unbeaten against weaker but the times and margins suggest it can beat these too.  Very keen.

Flemington r3 Chocolate Holic; Has WA Vega Magic form and looks ready after sitting wide without cover last start and just missing with a long gap to third.

Flemington r4 So Si Bon; First up had to be seen to believe then 2nd up nearly as impressive flashing home from nowhere.  Weights say he is going to be extremely hard to hold out this time.

Flemington r6 Swampland; Arguably should of won last start and has barrier advantage over Oregan's Day to turn the tables.

Randwick r4 Tom Melbourne; His runs in Sydney have been outstanding, the latest a close 2nd to Happy Clapper. Not sure why the early money is for stablemate Comin Through.

Randwick r5 Quinella no's 1 & 2.  Champagne Cuddles simply cannot draw a barrier and for that reason I'm suggesting Tulip is a strong danger but the two look to have a class edge on the rest.

Randwick r7 Redzel; Chautauqua's runs at Randwick have been breathtaking but first up over 1100m when the Everest is clearly the main focus has me thinking that the flying Redzel is going to have a big head start today and is trying to secure his own Everest berth.

Belmont r4 Patrocity; Last two starts has run on hard behind smart horses and looks better value than the fav who is promising but coming out of maiden company. Each Way.

Belmont r5 Saturia; At two career starts has finished in front of and behind the smart Epic Grey.  That looks the right form.

Belmont r7 Dark Prospect; Promising Blackfriar's stayer that hasn't put a foot wrong so far.  Looking for 1600m plus and the form around him is strong for this.

Flemington Multi; Jorda, R Symphony, Hartnell win Chocolate, So Si, Swamp place

Belmont Multi Saturia, Dark Prospect win, Patrocity place.

Flemington Early Quaddie (r2-5) 1, 4 12, 3 4 9, Field ($66 for 100%)

Flemington r4 first 4   3 4 9, S1, S1 1 2 5 6 10, S3.
