Best Bet Wyong r1 Walk The Runway; One start for one easy win, had two trials in preparation and already been heavily supported.

Wangarratta r6 Wherever Whenever; Started $1.40 on debut and justified it. Stable is flying.

Pakenham r7 Thoughtful Harmony; Her parents were both absolute champions and her last three starts have been very easy wins. This is harder but a mare in form is hard to stop.

Pakenham r8 Mellors; I’m Hoping the last start win gives him some confidence to go on with it after always teasing to show something.

Best Bet Oakbank r1 Blue Morpho; Good win in this grade backed up by a 1.25 length 5th at stakes level in Victoria. 3rd in that race was last weeks Group 1 winner Kenedna! Outstanding form for this.

Doomben r1 Mishani Vaidra; Up and coming stayer who gets back and runs on hard. This is easier than last start where it ran on for a close 3rd.

Randwick r3 Carif; Went from a barnstorming maiden win on good with an encouraging 4th on Heavy behind Sydney Derby winner. Back on good looks a great each way bet at $9.

Randwick r5 Haripour; Loved its win over 1600m at Bendigo. Waller is having a great run with ex Weir horses and Bowman booked.

Caulfield r4 Music Bay; Big field but the race looks to have a long tail and she maps to get best run of main chances.

Caulfield r9 Haunted; Unbeaten first up, well weighted and top jockey booked for return.

Ascot r3 Velago; Difficult horse to ride and like the way he went for Lucy last start .

Ascot r7 Little Fish; Huge run last start in better field. The Patronize’s love the wet as a rule and so do fish!

Best Bet Pakenham r7 Sunrise Dancer; Been racing well without luck and from wide draw hopefully she is ridden cold which seems to be her go. Track needs to be playing fairly before backing confidently.

Pakenham r8 Naivasha: These colours are having a good run and she brings very solid form to this including a 2nd to Declares War at Flemington over 1700m last time she was 2nd up. Her only two cheques were earned on soft tracks which is some concern but the race is very suitable.

Best Bet Warwick Farm r2 Erno; It’s Debut win really impressed me. Granted it was on heavy and most likely easier opposition but for mine that just has it rock hard fit for the 1300m and maps to get a picnic out in front.

1. Best Bet Ascot r5 Cup Night; It’s campaign so far has been faultless. Was slow away latest and still won from the back despite a slow tempo. With a small field and good barrier it has the ability to win from anywhere it finds itself in running.

Ascot Quaddie (r6-9); field, 8 11, 1, 4 7 8 9 10 11 13 14 15. $198 for 100%

2. Randwick r2 Millard Reaction; Has had two starts in Qld and although this is a ridiculous jump in class, It’s turn of foot is something to be seen and stable have chosen this race over a home state race that he looked to have a mortgage on. Each Way.

3. Randwick r3 Spring Charlie; Forget last run on heavy. Stewards questioned ride as looked as though it was used as a barrier trial for this race. Form before that race was strong and maps to get every chance. Each way.

4. Randwick r5 Classique Ledgend; Not as confident as last start where caught wide on a hot speed and bog definately cost it the race but have to reinvest as it was a huge run and should get it more economical this time from better gate. There is hot speed however and track tipped to favour swoopers so watch earlier races for pattern and make sure leaders are a chance.

Randwick Quaddie ; (r7-10) ; 7, 2 8 10 11 12 14 15 16 17 18 , 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 11 16 17 18 19, 5 6 10. $390 for 100%*

*pretty big spend for a “3” leg quaddie and relying on two value picks to beat the favs in the middle legs for a return. If you follow be prepared for a loss despite winning bet . If you rate the favs highly in the middle legs then this quaddie is not advisable.

5. Caulfield r4 Steel Prince; Simply doesn’t know how to run a bad race and the smart use of a 3kg claim sees it drop to below the minimum after carrying 57kgs to victory last start. Has hit rock bottom ($1.90) most likely due to weight advantage, would expect evens closer to jump. Rockarel looks a nice quinella horse.

First 4 ; 3 9, 3 9, 1 2 6 7 10, 1 2 6 7 10 $40 for 100%

6. Caulfield r8 Eduardo; Very talented sprinter dropping a long way in class and any luck in running it will be winning at the short odds.

7. Morphetville r7 Mirette; Two wins when proving a class above then a brave 4th when caught very wide at stakes level in Victoria has her primed to give this an almighty shake. (Next Best)

8. Eagle Farm r6 Racecourse Road; While potentially not the best horse in this I’m hoping it gets a picnic in front and the class horses have too much to do. They are mostly on a Derby path and should concede us a decent head start.

9.Eagle Farm r9 Tonsor; Doubt a drier track will stop him on what we saw at Qld debut where he put a similar field to the sword.

Best Bet Gosford r5 Mangione : Put simply it whacked away quite well behind last weeks Derby winner in a group 2 over 2000m on a Heavy 10, only beaten 4.8 lengths. They are usually rock hard fit after such runs and now runs in a midweek BM70 with barrier 1 and Jmac on.

Gosford r6 Harmattan; Similar to previous race this one was beaten 2 lengths in a group 3 , drying track helps and Bowman on.

Gosford r 7 Military Zone; If this was a bigger track and rated good 4 it would most likely start $1.20. Trials have shown group 1 potential and with any luck brains them however it’s $1.90 for a reason. Gosford is a worry for backing swoopers at odds on.

Gosford Quaddie (r5-8); 10, 6, 4, field $14 for 100%

Sandown r3 Music Bay; Has finished well in both runs back and form should be strong out of last start where just missed on unsuitable track.

Best Bet Ascot r9 Beautiful Mind; Has one 3 in a row out of 5 career starts and is still on an upward spiral. Toughest test but drawn and weighted to be very hard to beat.

Ascot r8 Spacegirl; In what looks a wide open Karrakatta plate going for some value. Really put a lesser field away with an explosive turn of foot at only 2nd start. Should get a nice run about midfield and with natural improvement can run into the money. Go more the place.

Ascot Quaddie (r6-9) ; 11, 3 5, 1 9 15, 12. $6 for 100%

Randwick r5 Self Sense; Very highly regarded jumper who is very effective on wet ground and has been winning on the flat on dry ground which means he is absolutley flying! Great each way price.

Randwick r7 Global Exchange; In my opinion this horse can be the next superstar of Australian racing. His win at Caulfield two back was as impressive as it gets. The distance and wet are the unknown factors however his Dad loved both and I’m willing to take the chance each way.

Best Bet Randwick r8 Full Recognition; Has improved each run in debut prep. Two placings before a dominant on pace win, all in maiden grade. This is a massive step up to bm70 grade but the placings were behind very smart horses who are listed/group horses in the making.

Sandown r4 High Ratio; Market has 3 key chances and the longest price one ($4) maps to get best run with Oliver riding on speed which has been advantageous here lately.

Sandown r5 El Don; In a wide open distance raffle thought $10 each way was a good price for a horse who is 3rd up dropping in grade from a 2.75 length 3rd over 2000m in a Flemington open handicap on a Saturday.

Sandown r6 Gennikay ; Has been flying at Pakenham , received a poor ride last time but still finished off behind a smart horse. $7 each way is great value.

Best Bet Albany r3 Jade Reef; Only has to get a spot from horror gate, has a fair bit on these if the fish can give her an opportunity.

Sale r3 Alaskan Honey; Was 2nd up and a week between runs when just missing over 2500m. Pretty good effort for a lightly raced filly but that’s how this stable rolls and she should now be primed.

Sale r4 Sadente; Has had no luck both starts this time in , firstly in the city then should of won latest. This looks the perfect race for her.

Best Bet Ascot r3 Cup Night; Beat some of these over 1200m first up, has won 2nd up in the past and should have plenty of improvement where most of the dangers are deep into their preps.

Ascot r5 Little Fish; Barrier and weight against him but he has carried big weights to victory in the past. $8 each way for a horse with a record of 8 starts for 6 wins and 2 places will do me.

Ascot r6 Pym’s Royale; Unlike stablemate Little Fish, Pym’s is drawn to get every possible chance and is down in the weights. Also has a very solid record (7 from 13) and Patemen chose to stick.

Bendigo r5 La Bella Diosa; Not beaten far first up in a ridiculously tougher affair.

Bendigo r9 Waging War; Was very unlucky first up in a good field, protesting unsuccessfully (many thought should of been upheld). Although 2nd up record doesn’t inspire much confidence , a closer look reveals most attempts have been in hot races and beaten margins not bad. Very keen each way.

Rosehill r3 Carif; Regally bred and put in a real eye catcher when rushing past them from the back in a 1850m maiden. This obviously a gigantic leap however I have a question mark on the fav who was a scr last week and unproven over 2000m. at $23 we can have a spec and go heavy place.

Rosehill r4 Princess Posh; All Rosehill tips have been based on a Heavy Track. It has taken a week of drying weather to get to a soft 6 and a fair amount of rain is forecast sometime raceday. As soon as it hits the track will be back in the heavy range. If it has arrived before race 4 then this girl ran a slashing 3rd in the Coolmore on the heavy last start and is a great each way price to threaten the fav. If the rain hasn’t arrived then the fav Alizee most likely wins.

Rosehill r5 Estijaab; Again only on a Wet track where she absolutely swims through it. Forgive 2nd up run in a tougher field off an injury enforced 12 months spell and look for jockey to push the button from the wide gate and bounce back hard.

Rosehill r9 Spring Charlie; Happy to be on regardless of track condition. Has a good horses record , been trialling the house down.

Rosehill Early Quaddie (r2-5); field, 1 2 9, 1 7, 4 6. $120 for 100%

Rosehill Quaddie (r6-9); 3 8, 1 3, field, 9 *(risky stand out but makes it affordable) $52 for 100%

Morphetville r2 Lake District Girl; Prepared to forgive a failure down the Flemington straight here, especially based on two previous victories including a Sandown 64.

Morphetville r5 Two Odd Socks; Didn’t get much room in a similar race last start and is each way ($6) odds.

Doomben r5 Tonsor; Another meeting where conditions are unknown. Handles all conditions and is rising rapidly through the grades.

Thursday Tips

Best Bet Pakenham r1 Think I’m Dreaming; In a meeting dominated by short priced favourites that look the goods, this is the best of them. Scratched from yesterday when well in the market, stays in same class, track and distance as last start’s easy romp.

Pakenham r5 Rhames; There was a big gap to third in debut win and some of those have won next start.

Pakenham r6 Mrs O’malley; The only query is her racing pattern of getting back over the sprint trips. It cost her the race at Moonee Valley but this track should suit better.

Pakenham r8 Oregan Dreamer; Very strong form from all 3 runs this prep, all at this track. Gretsky looks the clear danger & quinella horse however needs another win to convince he genuinely finds the line.

Pakenham Quaddie (r5-8); 1 , 4, 1 2 3 4 , 4 7. $8 for 100%

* Tricky Quaddie to make money off. Every leg has a short priced fav so if they all lob pays very skinny. If you go wide you are relying on at least two favs going under. One method is to have one with favs for units and a wider back up for cover.

Best Bet Sandown r7 Toorak Warrior; Two back beat all bar a potential star then couldn’t get past a heavily backed favourite. This looks slightly easier.

Sandown r2 Judge O’reilly ; Last start very close 2nd to same horse as our best bet above who obviously franked the form last week.

Sandown Early Quaddie (r1-4); 1 4 5 9 , 2, field, 1 10. $64 for 100%

Warwick Farm r2 Wayupinthesky ; Debuted in a Slipper lead up Saturday race and wasn’t disgraced. The massive drop in class and race experience should help her win here.

Warwick Farm r5 Fairlight; Distance (3/4) and Heavy (1/2) record give me the confidence it can handle the rise in class.

Warwick Farm r8 Roosevelt; Hasn’t done much this prep however peak performance last time was on a heavy track at the midweeks where it blew them away. Stable going alright just quietly!

Warwick Farm Quaddie (r5-8); 2 3, field, 3 4 8 13, 12.$88 for 100%

Best Bet Eagle Farm r8 Sword of Justice; Has been ultra impressive leading all the way past two and the map suggests will get every chance to do so again. Really rate the kid on top also. For omen punters the name is quiet relevant being trained by Ben Currie !!

Eagle Farm Jockey Challenge; No market yet to know if worthwhile but Baylee Nothdurft has a ridiculously good book of rides and is a gun apprentice to boot.

Rosehill r2 Classique Legend; Short enough for a horse jumping in class and drawn out but has looked like a star sprinter from day 1, backed up by the clock.

Rosehill r6 DanzDanzDance; Wet Track form in NZ is very good at the highest level. Each Way.

Rosehill r7 Pin Sec; Suggest small each way as it’s a very wide open slipper but she is 2/2 and although not in the elite races they were ultra impressive and easy victories. Has a sharp turn of foot and looked as though she had more gears to call on.

Ascot r5 Specialism; Her only defeat came at the hands of very smart Jericho Missile who is odds on in the boys division and she worked hard for narrow defeat that day. This is a cracking race with a host of smart fillies but $5.50 each way is a good bet in my opinion.

Best Bet Rosehill r5 Verry Elleegant; If the penny ever drops with her she could be a superstar. Went enormous first up despite her usual tricks and wet track no problem whatsoever.

Rosehill r7 Jamaicain Rain; The likely heavy track conditions have seen an unbelievable amount of money see her firm in to $4.80 fav in a field of 20. She is an absolute duck with a light weight.

Flemington r1 Clarice Cliffs; Was heavily supported last start in tougher race and just missed. Better suited here.

Flemington r2 Jumbo Ozaki; Has a cult following after two provincial starts for two soft wins. Big jump in class but conditions appear perfect.

Flemington r7 Hellova Street; Barrier 16 and 59kgs seems a fair task but has a very solid track and distance record. If he can get over without using too much petrol he will take some running down. Each Way.

Flemington r8 Alizee; Has been bombproof all prep showing her blistering turn of foot no matter what position she finds herself in.

Ascot r3 Express Flirt; Has carried big weights successfully before and has draw advantage over main rival.

Ascot r5 Macroy; What a prep she’s having and if she gets the right run then doubt they can hold her out late.

Ascot r6 Stairwaytothemoon; There is no dominant staying filly among these heading towards the oaks. She has been taking on midweek older horses and already proven she can handle the distance. Forget last start where she drifted in the market and was a while between runs with the idea of getting to the oaks. She made up very good ground from way back. $16 is over the odds in my opinion.

Gold Coast r1 Drumadoir; Handles all conditions. That’s important here as conditions were pretty bad late Friday. Current form around in form horses is good enough.

Gold Coast r7 Sugar Boom; Trial suggested she was a serious horse, started $1.50 on debut and looked home for all money before stopping late. Fitter and more experienced, punters are obviously keen to recoup as she has been sensationally backed in a much harder race.
