Wednesday Winners

Best Bet Sandown r1 Sticking Point; Blew it’s chances at the start on debut , running on into 2nd behind the all the way winner with a gap to 3rd. With a better jump and an extra 200m can go one better.

Sandown r8 Tofane; Typical of this time of year , she last started in a group 2 and just missed behind Valour Rd. That says she wins this on class alone but it’s tricky knowing how forward they are with bigger fish to fry. It’s a balancing act of looking for market support without missing the price!

Belmont r2 Naughty By Nature; Was on debut when she got back from a wide draw and took some riding to get going but when she did she exploded late. Hopefully settles a bit closer from barrier 1 and gets a clear crack at them. Each Way.

Betfair/Multi

Belmont r6 Black Ducati; Exciting sprinter who has burned the turf, once at the races and at the trials. Bookies aren’t taking any chances at $1.50 though.

Best Bet Cranbourne r5 Real Gent; In form wet tracker who has won at the distance.

Weekend Winners

Best Bet Belmont r3 Zaratite; Has a turn of foot that the others do not and gets through the likely atrocious conditions. He has been scratched 2 Saturdays in a row but we can only presume he won’t go round if he’s not right.

Belmont r4 Uni Time; Bolted in a c1 with 61kgs on wet ground so should handle the conditions better than most. Short enough for this harder assignment but never runs a bad race and will get every chance again. The bolter might be New Age who flies fresh but wet and 1400m (prefer 1600m +) are the queries. Cryptic Love the only other chance .

Belmont Early Quaddie (r2-5); field, 3 , 1 6 8, 3 5 . $54 for 100%.

Belmont r8 Neurological; This horse is an absolute ripper for connections. Always in the finish and drawn to power home to victory again from just off them. Is getting up in the weights and likely very wet track some query but still the one to beat.

Randwick r5 Notio; Is the one dropping a long way in class and 3kg claim gets it in very well at weights. Pet distance and small field suits as will get back so not too many horses to round up.

Caulfield r5 Excess Funds; Tricky gate but has the race fitness edge , handles soft and has very strong form lines.

Caulfield r8 Mystic Journey; Already Labelled the next Winx , everyone wants to pot from inside draw on wet track, even the trainer is voicing concern. Agree at odds on but now getting out to a very tempting price as long as inside isn’t a bog come race time. Wait til last minute and if hasn’t blown out considerably in market then happy to get on.

Betfair/Multi *too short presently but multi bankers or shop for better on betfair.

Morphetville r5 Shilldora; Has a massive class edge but scratchings have ruined price.

Thursday Tips

Best Bet Sale r10 Maktabba; While it’s only coming from a f&m maiden on synthetic at prohibitive odds , It has 2yo form behind Yes Yes Yes. Presume they are trying to storm through the grades for spring racing targets later in the prep.

Sale r3 Somethingaboutharry; Got too far back and stormed home on debut to finish 2nd where as the winner led throughout. If you can make ground it should win. Will be watching first two races to check for any bias.

Sale r6 Pereira; Bombed the start before making good ground latest in a harder race. Clear standout on class and Lane booking is a good lead.

Sale Quaddie (r7-10); 7, field, 4 9 , 14. $22 for 100%

Newcastle r7 Rancho Notorious; Wouldn’t have to improve much off it’s first up run to beat these.

Northam r5 Brave Call; This looks even easier than last start’s 2nd in a maiden in town .

Wednesday Winners

Best Bet Sandown r5 Too Good Too Hard; It’s debut win from way back over 1200m then last start just missing a 1000m specialist on a soft 7 indicate tomorrows 1300m on heavy should suit down to the ground.

Sandown r1 Singing Sword; In a very competitive affair, I thought $7 each way (pay 1 &2) was a good price for the only horse to have seen heavy (ran 2nd) and has the services of Damian Lane .

Sandown r4 Paris; Again going to the proven wet track performer and gets in with just 52kgs after claim.

Warwick Farm r2 Achondrite; Should of finished closer first up and now looks to get every chance with barrier 1 and Mcdonald to dominate the race and make amends.

Doomben r7 Constant Flight; Record indicates fresh is best so first up from barrier 1 in a winnable race looks a winning formula.

Weekend Winners

Best Bet Flemington r3 Jumbo Ozaki ; Was a certainty beaten at first city start last campaign coming from two ultra impressive soft kills. Trial indicated he has stakes class at the very least and if he handles the track conditions will go extremely close.

Flemington r5 Dabiyr; Lightly raced Waller Import who is coming off a solid Midweek win. This is technically harder but handles wet ground and relishes the distance range. Each Way.

Belmont r3 Massimo; One trial for a strong win in quick time then straight to town for leading stable.

Belmont r9 Blackwood River; Value tip of the day but having said that was expecting much bigger odds than the $11 on offer. First up was never a factor after drawing car park on a wet track and getting back to last. Has run it’s best races up on speed and from inside barrier expecting it to settle leaders back and try and pinch it on corner. Small each way, hopefully at much better odds.

Thursday Tips

Pinjarra r3 Belle of Liberty; On debut from WA’s leading yard and won it’s only trial by a space on the bit which is rare for this camp, usually keeping them under wraps. Straight to the races and drawn the right side in a very winnable maiden.

Pinjarra r5 Indian Chant; Suprised he is still a maiden but has run places in harder fields than this and gets another chance.

Kembla Grange r1 Run For Glory; Won easily on debut at 100-1 and the place getters have since won.

Kembla Grange r5 Emergent; Never easy coming out of maiden grade but keeps improving as the distances increase and 1600m looks ideal to go on with it.

Kembla Grange r7 Dolly’s Due; In form mare with a very solid record for this.

Wednesday Winners

Best Bet Belmont r1 Too Close The Sun; First up over 1700m on a soft 6 has to be a query but has trialed better than maiden class and is bred to relish even further. Stable is on fire, opposition look limited and has been heavily backed overnight. Thinking we deserve better than current $2 so I’m waiting til jump.

Belmont r3 Sir Mambo; Likes running 2nd but this is very winnable. Claim and good draw means he should get every chance.

Belmont Early Quaddie (r1-4); 2, field, 2, 1 2 3 4 6 9.$48 for 100%. $48 for 100%

Cranbourne r7 Strong Influence; Was hoping for a wetter track than soft 5 as it’s recent wet form is good enough to take this out. Should still be very competitive.

Sunday Prayers

Best Bet Sandown r9 Smart Elissim; Drop from Saturday grade , claim and soft track all point to him running a big race.

Sandown r4 Pinyin; Has form around good winning horses including this track and distance.

Sandown r8 Helmaz; Racing well without much luck in stronger race latest. Each Way.

WEEKEND WINNERS

Best Bet Belmont r6 Uni Time; Have a lot of time for this horse. Won with ease first up carrying 61kgs in first gear. Huge respect to Lipstick Flickers who is the obvious danger if your a quinella fan.

Randwick r1 Art Collection; Is the one with solid form in elite 2yo company and coming off impressive trial win. Mcdonald booked, If it wasn’t a heavy track would be my best bet but that’s the unknown.

Ranndwick r8 Cyber Intervention; Looks primed for the 1800m 3rd up after rattling home last 2 over shorter distances and wet track no problem.

Morphetville r5 Autumn Splendour; Was held up and green on debut but still finished off hard in what should be a strong enough form reference for this maiden.

Doomben r8 Handsome Thief; Has a solid record in this distance range where as 1200m stretches most of the other leading chances to their limit.

Thursday Tips

Best Bet Northam r1 Data Lake; Bit of a gamble on a mare having her 3rd start in a race , 2nd up from a spell, jumping from 1600m to 2200m but… the race record of the others is that bad she only has to get the trip to be winning.

Pakenham r1 Favourite Things ; Synthetic racing not my favourite thing to bet on but your only gambling on her handling the track as her race form is far superior.

Pakenham r4 Love Machine; This time going with the runner that is proven on this surface vs the fav who has slightly stronger form but never been tried on the synthetic.

Wednesday Winners

Best Bet Morphetville r8 Misscino; Dropping from a close 4th in a bm 70 when caught wide to a 56. record indicates it likes to run 2nd (10 2nds and only 2 wins) but this is her chance. Stable like to have a bet so watch market for further confidence.

Sale r9 Think Wer’e Due; Really hit his straps last two with a 5 length romp at this track indicating he can handle the slight rise in class and work his way through the grades.

Warwick Farm r4 The Party Girl; Has been racing very competitively in much stronger races than this. Will need a little luck as generally gets back but with the right run will be hard to hold out. Each Way.

Warwick Farm Early Quaddie (r1-4); 9, 2 3 4 5 6 , field , 1 2 3 . $165 for 100%

Sunshine Coast r4 Paper Trade; Should settle closer from barrier 1 and prove hardest to beat on recent city form. The Tenor is new to Qld and opened up short off back of easy trial win so wary.

Belmont r6 Make Mine Champers; Doesn’t win out of turn but neither does anything else in this race. If the tempo is on then she has the best turn of foot and this is easiest race she has contested for a while.

Sunday Prayers

Best Bet Kalgoorlie r6 Nemiroff; Has always had ability but failed to deliver in town. Hit his straps in the goldfields and although facing a huge jump in class has pace to burn and Pike is making the trip to ride.

Bendigo r4 Tigre Royale; Improved out of sight over a trip on heavy last start. Soft seven track and better barrier to hopefully settle closer in the run help it’s chances.

Weekend Winners

Best Bet Rosehill r5 Ilwendo; Lightly raced stayer who has more upside than these. Looks ready for the 2400m and will appreciate the good track rating.

Rosehill r3 Jardin Rogue; Going for 6 straight. Yes wins have been in easier Qld races but first up win was arrogant and a sign she has plenty more gears to use. Scratched from a race in Qld for this.

Rosehill r9 Greyworm; Convinced he is the best horse in the race and is primed for first up win. Does have a tricky gate and speed map for an apprentice to overcome but I’m happy to take my chances.

Rosehill Early Quaddie (r2-5); 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 11 12 13 15 , 2 3, 1 2 3 5 7, 6. $110 for 100%

Eagle Farm r3 Tardis ; Speedy mare who is in career best form and dropping in class. Jockey has options from perfect draw.

Eagle Farm r8 Freddie Fox Trot; Overall record is very good and should appreciate getting back on to dry ground. A repeat of last start effort would go very close to winning this.

Morphettville r4 Beautiful Flyer; Really hit her straps lately and a nose 2nd at Caulfield looks the right form reference. 1200m is her pet distance.

Thursday Tips

Best Bet Pinjarra r7 Stormy Ruler; Thin race and should get run of race for a top trainer/jockey combination.

Pinjarra Quaddie (r6-9); 1 2 3, 2 , 1 2 3 4 7 8 11 12 , 2. $24 for 100%.

Wednesday Winners

Best Bet Belmont r6 Delta Belle; Try not to tip Odds on Favs as best bets but willing to suggest $1.95 is good value. Showed last start it just needed a middle distance to show it’s true potential. Concede that was a weak maiden and this is much stronger. Also concede 2nd fav’s Magic Las Vegas form lines and weight after claim would have it start favourite without “Pike Tax” but I’m willing to pay the taxman today.

Belmont r4 Black Russian; Full brother to exciting stayer Come Play With Me who also showed a liking for this distance range. Now he has hit his straps expect him to go much further than this level.

Belmont Quaddie (r4-7) ; 4, field, 7, field . $99 for 100%

Doomben r6 Winter Passage; Big drop in class on latest efforts. Would prefer a slightly softer track but should go very close.

Doomben r7 Char Char; Recent efforts have been very good in stronger races.

Multi / Betfair * Short price favs that should win for multi’s or shop for beeter odds.

Belmont r2 Western Queen; Shown enough at trials to beat these.

Weekend Winners

Best Bet Flemington r4 Lord Belvedere; Imported stayer who has shown a turn of foot, winning first up over 1600m and running on well over 1800m in a stronger field. Has won over 2400m in England so should be ready for this 3rd up.

Flemington r9 Usain Bowler; Has finished within 5 lengths of Sunlight in the group 1 Newmarket handicap down the Flemington straight. Also bolted in first up down the straight last prep. With 54kgs today looks set to give it an almighty shake. Never been tried over 1000m so hopefully doesn’t leave it too late!

Randwick r4 Slow Burn; This is a huge drop in class and a smart use of claim to get her into a 78 with 59kgs at each way odds.

Randwick r5 Attorney; French Import this time and unbeaten in two Australian starts. Placed 2nd behind a smart sprinter over 1200m in a trial before winning over 1600 and 1900m. Still on the way up.

Morphetville r3 Counter Drive; Banking on it finding the front unopposed and when that happens is always hard to catch.

Morphetville r6 Fill The Flute; Another speedster who when leads is rarely caught , especially at this level.

Multi/Betfair; The following horses are currently odds on but clearly on top . Use as Multi legs or shop on Betfair for better odds.

Belmont r2 Battle Storm; $1.45 actually looks reasonable , he could be a group 1 sprinter in time.

Belmont r4 Mystery Miss; Class filly facing limited opposition but $1.24 makes options limited.

Morphetville r2 Westport; Had no right to win last start but did it easy. Creeping out towards even money which would be acceptable.

Wednesday Winners

Best Bet Warwick Farm r1 Splendid Surprise ; 3yo who’s effort on debut rated higher than the 2yo fav over the same track and distance. You would expect the 3yo has more upside and your getting better odds.

Warwick Farm r5 Terwilliker; While most of the chances are stepping up in trip , he is dropping back from very solid efforts over longer on heavy tracks. Hence he has a massive fitness edge and the slightly drier conditions suit. Each way.

Warwick Farm r6 Think Free; There has been a massive push for Handspun but for mine they both came out of the same race and although Handspun didn’t get it run to suit , my pick still finished 2 lengths in front of it.

Sunshine Coast r4 Great Powers; Finds it hard to win but finds an easier race to do so after going close in better races.

Sunshine Coast r8 Full Nelson; Won on debut so might race best first up and it’s best will run a good race here at decent each way prices.

Weekend Winners

Best Bet Belmont r8 Lordhelpmerun; Looked set to win last start before peaking late and failing to get past another smart one in The Velvet King. Maps to get every possible chance just behind the leader. My one concern is 1600m might be his limit with 60kgs but class will carry him a long way.

Caulfield r1 Can’t Be Done ; 2yo with strong winning form around him , handles the likely tough conditions.

Caulfield r2 Charlayne; Racing well in pretty strong city NSW races. Drawn to get lovely run and pounce in the straight if rail is ok.

Caulfield r6 Tavirun; The race conditions look almost identical to last start where he ran them into the ground.

Doomben r2 Another Dollar ; It’s form in QLD is strong against better opposition than it meets today.

Doomben r3 Ingear; Has a big wrap on her from 1 trial and one start, showing great speed at both ends in both to win by a space. This is much tougher but they will be giving her a start and will have to sprout wings to catch her.

Betfair/Multi Banker;

Rosehill r5 Spiritual Pursuit; Unbeaten on heavy tracks , drawn to get every chance.

Wednesday Winners

Best Bet Morphetville r4 Westport; Has to jump from a 2yo provincial maiden to city BM64 but did jump at $1.07 in that maiden and justified the odds. From top stable and only other run was unlucky run in group 3 Blue Diamond Preview.

Morphetville r3 Disco Rebel; Racing pattern and breeding suggest the slight increase in distance will suit. If the track deteriorates further then Sanima Star becomes a big threat. Has stronger form however needs it wetter than a soft 5 to show best.

Morphetville Early Quaddie (r2-5); 1, 2 4 , 9, 1 4 7 8 10 11 12 16 $16 for 100%

Sandown r2 Desert Dreamer; Has ticked the 1400m wet track box and debut in city was very good effort without luck.

Sandown Early Quaddie (r1-4); Field, 1, Field, 6. $54 for 100%

Betfair/Multi; The following horses are tipped to go very close but are currently too short in my opinion. Shop on betfair or use them in multi legs if you agree.

Sandown r4 Mirimar; Finishing in front of and next to Future Score last two starts is the right form. $1.90 for a record of 3 wins from 20 ?

Doomben r2 Removal; Will handle the conditions but $1.80 for a horse that keeps just missing.

Morphetville r2 Blow Torch; Big drop in class should help.
