Thursday Tips

Best Bet Northam r6 Heart of Coeur; Overall (15-3,1,4 ) , Trk Distance (1/1) and 2nd up records (2/2) all indicate he is the one to beat here. His first up 3rd was good in a better race .

Northam r7 Obstination; A run on 2nd to Miss West Coast should be very good form for this. Only has to handle the 300m rise in distance to salute.

Northam Quaddie (r4-7) ; field, 4 7 10, 1 , 10. $24 for 100%

Moe r3 Ears The Barman; Race fit and proven on soft .

Moe r8 La Tigeresa ; Can get home like a train and is coming out of strong races.

Best Bet Caulfield r5 Bravo Tango; When on song he can really motor home. Has a big weight and awkward barrier but if track is playing fair and gets any luck will be powering over the top.

Caulfield r6 Zoustyle; Was disappointed it got run down last time but looks to get it easier on speed today and gets another chance.

Betfair/Multi

Ascot r6 Windstorm; It’s debut win got tongues wagging, running down another talented 3yo with a blistering turn of foot. Will be a major player in the summer features so should win here but priced accordingly.

Weekend Winners

Best Bet Ascot r2 Sublime Image; Split two runners who both won very easily on Wednesday last start. Regally bred and will only need clear air and a fair track to run over these.

Ascot r4 Bunker Buster; Knows where the line is , winning it’s last 3 by narrow margins. Has however ran down some handy types and the likely genuine speed will set it up perfectly for a repeat performance.

Ascot r6 Cup Night; With two of the better credentialed chances likely to be dueling up front , I can see Cup Night getting the opportunity to use his turn of foot to chase them down late. Dry Ascot can present a leader bias so assess the earlier races before diving in and go each way.

Caulfield r3 Loving Gaby; One of last seasons best 2yo’s who returned with a strong finishing win . This is no harder if not easier and will take a stack of beating.

Caulfield r8 Soul Patch; Don’t let the barrier turn you off playing each way here. He is very adaptable in that can be ridden forward or back. Wherever he does end up he has untapped ability and $17 is overs in such a wide open race. Has a real sense of timing , coming through the midweeks to peak on the day.

Bunbury r4 Angelique’s Fame ; Our flying filly finally makes it to her debut race! I don’t have a standout best bet today so thought I would analyze our race instead. She maps to get every chance , her trials have been good enough and we think she can run top three. She is on debut and still learning however so not suggesting a large investment. The favourite Boomtastic will obviously take a stack of beating with the wizard Pike to steer.

1st (7) Boomtastic 2nd (11) Angelique’s Fame. 3rd (8) Red Warrior 4th (9) Oreo

Monday Money Makers

Best Bet Warwick Farm r5 Multaja; Brilliant fresh record in all conditions and although 1000m is slightly short of her best, the small field means she won’t be too far back .

Warwick Farm r4 Tricky Gal; It’s only defeat so far was narrow with excuses on a Heavy track. This is by far her toughest test class wise but she will be closing off fast in another small field . Will have clear air to work with while Angel of Heaven will need some luck from barrier 1.

Warwick Farm r8 So Bizarre; First up for a new stable after a year off. Also short of her best distance but her form is around much better horses than she meets here. At $16 each way it might be worth a ticket in case she is ready. Use the market to judge stable confidence.

Weekend Winners

Best Bet Kalgoorlie r8 Spiritual Warrior; Has won three on the bounce in Saturday Metro races. Races on speed which is advantageous here. Very wary of Ihtsahymn but willing to take on dirt form . First Affair grows a leg in Kalgoorlie and has Pike but will get back.

Novelties

1st 1 10 2nd 1 8 10 3rd 1 2 7 8 10 4th field.

Randwick R5 Classique Legend; One of the leading Everest contenders who ran a cracker first up behind current Everest Favourite Pierata. Maps to get better run than main rival Osborne Bull .

Flemington r7 Mr Quickie; 2/2 2nd up and ran fastest closing sectionals of the day first up over 1600m. As long as you can make ground on this track he will be almighty hard to run down. 2 roughies for novelties are Trap for Fools who should lead for fun and doesn’t lie down without a fight and Looks Like Elvis who is airborne in much easier grade.

Novelties

1st 3 4, 2nd 2 3 4 9 3rd 1 2 3 4 6 8 10 4th 1 2 3 4 6 8 9 10 12

Flemington r8 Surprise Baby; Won the Adelaide cup at just start 6 over 3200m. 2nd up at 2500m is unusual for Australian horses but he is an out and out stayer looking for a Melbourne Cup start so Trainer will have him ready.

Flemington r9 Subpeonaed; Comes from the stronger form races in Sydney. She raced without luck behind the best 3yo fillies in the country and should be storming home here.

Flemington Quaddie (r6-9); 1 4 7 , 2 3 4 8 9 , 3, 7 11. $30 for 100%

Thursday Tips

Best Bet Kalgoorlie r7 Pym’s Royale, Locals are always hard to beat at their home track. Especially when they have a 7/7 including 2/2 at the distance record! Dropping a massive 8kgs, happy to be wide with cover from the tricky gate and thundering home in clear air.

Gosford r2 Tisane; While there hasn’t been much between today’s equal favourites , She has beaten Wild Sheila home . Wild sheila has also had twice as many chances to win a maiden.

Sunday Prayers

Best Bet Toodyay r6 Armed and Ready ; Should sit up on speed which is highly advantageous this track and was unlucky first up over the staying trip. Fitter and this is weaker. No market yet so fingers crossed it’s backable.

Caulfield r7 Gatting; Held Mystic Journey comfortably last start with a gap to 3rd. Was strong to the line and in previous campaigns has beaten/pushed Galaxy Star over this distance range. Ignore the starting price and it’s clearly hard to beat with a repeat performance.

Caulfield r8 Zoustyle ; Previously unbeaten in QLD, prepared to forgive latest when thrown in the absolute deep end against the countries best. Will get a much better run here , most likely lead on his terms and if not physically or psychologically damaged can bounce back.

Caulfield Quaddie (r6-9); 1 2 3 4 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 , 7 8 , 9, 6 7 11 15 17 $130 for 100%

Weekend Winners

Best Bet Rosehill r5 Enticing Star; This mare has a devastating turn of foot that she has used 8 /10 times with genuine excuses for the two losses. 1 loss was a 2nd in a group 1 where she pulled up with issues. She will come from last but only has to pass 6 rivals. Her 2 trials indicate she is ready to let rip.

Rosehill r4 Gem Song; Track and 2nd up stats read very well for this. If he runs as well as his first up effort behind a budding star in Arcadia Queen then he wins.

Rosehill Early Quaddie (r2-5); field, 1 2 3 5 6 7 8 , 3, 5. $105 for 100%

Rosehill r8 Quick Thinker; First run in Australia was simply outstanding in weaker grade. That was a Heavy 9 and trainer didn’t think he would handle it so if he jumps out of the ground even further on dry then I want to be with him.

Belmont Early Quaddie (r2-5); 1 2 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 13, 1 2 3 5 , 2 , 4. $44 for 100%

Betfair/Multi;

Belmont r4 Bunker Buster; Odds on in staying races is hard to take but the Scr of Too Close The Sun really points to him winning again for Mcnaught/Durrant lethal combo.

Belmont r5 Cockney Crew; Is my best bet confidence wise but the $2.70 opening price disappeared quicker than last weeks pay. Expecting him to play a part in local carnival races .

Doomben r7 Jonker; If running 2nd to Classique Legend by a length isn’t good enough here then don’t bother reading form guides. Absolute moral on ratings, unfortunately it doesn’t always work out that way .

Friday Fill Up

Best Bet Moonee Valley r2 Power Scheme; Drops in weight after beating one of today’s rivals at this track and has group 3 form around smart types.

Moonee Valley r5 Exhilarates; Bookies are keen to risk due to barrier 1. If that’s the chance we have to take on a classy horse for a decent price then bring it on. Good horses can overcome obstacles and I’m sure Jockey will have a plan from the get go.

Wednesday Winners

Best Bet Flemington r2 Soul Patch; Outstanding run for 2nd from last on a leader bias track first up. Winner led and ran 2nd on Saturday to frank the form. 1400m and better barrier look ideal.

Canterbury r7 California Zimbol; Won here on debut then went straight to Queensland for feature 2yo races and ran very well. Trial was outstanding and expected to win better races.

Weekend Winners

Best Bet Belmont r6 Too Close The Sun; Concede he had every conceivable chance last week but he was only run down by another promising stayer with a big gap to 3rd. Rock hard fit on the quick back up. Also concede Beaucount will take some catching and have us sweating turning for home with a big lead. In Pike we trust to time his run to perfection.

Belmont r8 Cup Night; Trainer reported pre race first up that there was plenty of improvement to come and although he didn’t have the smoothest of runs he did seem to peak late . Fitter , more suitable distance and a solid 2nd up record indicate a good chance to re coup our losses.

Belmont Quaddie (r5-8); 4, 1 2 3 4 5 7 8 9 10 11 , 4 , 1 2 3 4 5 11. $60 for 100%

Caulfield r3 Maktabba; Hard to line up a 7 length synthetic BM 58 win here but she has speed to burn and YES YES YES 2yo form. Each Way.

Caulfield r5 Pippie; Controls her races from the front and makes it almost impossible sectional wise to get past her.

Caulfield r7 So Si Bon; The enigma has put two cracking runs together and a repeat would see him in the finish at attractive each way odds.

Eagle Farm r6 Trevelyan; Has chased home much better opposition than he meets today and looks perfectly placed.

Morphetville r7 Soothing; Pet distance and an unlucky 2nd to a mare that has since won up in grade reads well for this.

Thursday Tips

Best Bet Sale r2 LUNAKORN ; Impressive debut where it was slowly away before powering home for 2nd over 1300m. Extra 100m looks ideal and expected to go through the grades.

Sale r6 Extreme Pride; Has flicked the switch this campaign and proved it could carry the weight, winning with 61.5kgs over this distance last start.

Northam r4 Jarman; Hard to get too excited with his race record of duck eggs from 8 attempts however, he can rattle off a quick sectional at the end of his races and this isn’t strong .

Northam r5 Demi Go Round; Hard to ignore the last start 1L third to Heavenly Affair when comparing form lines with the others.

Wednesday Winners

Best Bet Belmont r6 Pearls From Heaven ; Building to a win and 1.4 length 4th to Heavenly Affair is a very solid form reference for this.

Belmont r5 Speedy Miss ; First up run was promising behind a smart one then had no luck , held up til the race was all over after being slow away.

Belmont Quaddie (r4-7); 1 3 4 , 3, 3 , 2 3 4 5 6 8 11 $21 for 100%

Cranbourne r2 Nerone; Two solid placings so far where the form has been franked.

Cranbourne r6 Asateer; Yet to run a bad race and Condo’s Express form is top shelf.

Warwick Farm r6 Duchess Of Lennox ; Looks to have a massive class advantage , how much the heavy track brings her back to the field especially at the short odds is the question we have to ask. Trusting trainer thinks she will handle it.

Doomben r8 Heritage Sash; Yet to miss a place in 6 starts and the horse he chased last start is flying.

Weekend Winners

Best Bet Rosehill r6 Exceedence; On his first up run , the only way I can see this horse being beaten is a mad rail / leader bias. Unfortunately this is quite common on good tracks in NSW so I’m suggesting waiting to look for pattern in early races . If all is fair then looks the standout 3yo of the spring.

Rosehill r4 Dabiyr; Waller Import who thrashed his rivals at first start in this distance range in Melbourne. Only has to handle the big weight to take care of these on the way to the Metropolitan.

Flemington r6 Fidelia; Absolutely loves the wide open spaces and long straight of Flemington. Held up first up and attacked the line . Should get her chance to show her turn of foot and power over the top in a good race.

Belmont r5 Heavenly Affair; Tipping a mare with 60kgs on a Saturday is not really my thing but tipping a mare in red hot form is. She showed a brilliant turn of foot with 61.5kgs at the midweeks so I’m going to trust her to handle it more than I trust some of the other runners ability to find the line.

Belmont r9 Danny George; Tipping this one on an each way basis. Looks to be blistering speed in this which suits his racing style of being held up for a big finishing burst.

Multi/Betfair

Doomben r5 Meet Mr Taylor; Speed freak who should just give them windburn from barrier 1 over his pet distance.

Thursday Tips

Best Bet Northam r3 Son Of A God; Solid trial alongside our girl ANGELIQUE’S FAME, hitting the line nicely from the back. From top stable and can run a race each way on debut.

Mornington r6 Alabama Express; Solid win on debut as a 2yo. 2nd has since placed at stakes level. Drawn to get a great run.

Wednesday Winners

Best Bet Belmont r3 Pletto; Lightly raced mare who has yet to miss a place. Dominant first up and although officially up in grade this isn’t strong.

Bendigo r4 Miami Bound; 1st start was a 3rd in stronger company, backed up with a dominant maiden victory. Competitive race but bred to relish the extra distance.

Bendigo r8 Seductive Miss; Well beaten but has had excuses last two in very strong form races. Has performed at a high level in this distance range and $23 looks overs if it can get the right run.

Sunday Prayers

Best Bet Kalgoorlie r7 Pym’sRoyale; Before being a competitive Saturday horse in town it won 5/5 at this track. Pateman is his regular jockey.

Kalgoorlie r9 Excaro; Has made these sprint races her own in the region , dominating on speed. Today’s obstacle is having to sit outside a very hot speed with Nemiroff flying along in front for inform apprentice Mcnaught. Excaro is much more reliable at the business end however wary of a blowout if she get’s tired last 100m.

Kalgoorlie Quaddie (r6-9); 1 2 3 4 5 6 , 5, field , 3. $84 for 100%

Weekend Winners

Best Bet Belmont r5 Spiritual Warrior; Both horse and jockey are in a purple patch of form and the form from his last start has been well and truly franked.

Belmont r8 Cup Night; First up and short of his best distance but won all 3 starts last prep. His trial win was super impressive and looks set for bigger and better things.

Belmont r9 Blackwood River; When this horse gets a perfect run he usually goes close. If he doesn’t he can look plain. I map him getting every chance right behind speed here and should be in the finish on an each way basis.

Moonee Valley r4 Haut Brion Her; Only time she has lost was beaten 1/2 length by the smart Sylvia’s Mother. Gets the right run just off speed and will be strong late.

Moonee Valley r5 Exhillerates; Some of her wins from impossible positions in the best company have been outstanding. Doesn’t have to get so far back here and as long as its not very wet looks too classy.

Moonee Valley r8 Kenedna; Group 1 winner with the blinkers on at each way odds .

Eagle Farm r2 Trevelyan; Current form well and truly good enough for this and the main danger Reckless Choice has to carry a big weight.

Eagle Farm r8 Magnufighter; Another one with Looks Like Elvis form which is red hot. Previous runs have been spaced , quick back up this time so unknown how he copes.

Morphetville r5 Shopaholic; Lightly raced mare in peak form. Bred to get the trip and no more inform trainer / jockey combo in the country.

Wednesday Winners

Best Bet Belmont r3 Pure Dynamite; Promising maiden victory at first start as a 3yo. Showed ability in some strong 2yo races so should be able to progress here.

Randwick r3 Royal Witness; Tipping on track and distance record . However I’m finding early markets too tight to bet on at moment Australia wide . $2 is too short and will be waiting for better or not playing.

Sandown r6 Soul Patch; Won on debut and put straight out. The form for that race has stood up. Had it not drawn car park I would be super keen but it is a very strong race. Small each way and maybe even a speck at Caulfield Guineas Futures market ($93) in case it runs a bottler.
