Always running on with a big turn of foot but very rarely winning , I finally sacked him and you guessed it he has put two wins in town together , running straight past them like they were standing still. Best Bet Ascot r8 Naughty By Nature; Concede she had a great run in transit last time but she was the only one who offered any sort of challenge to highly regarded Superstorm. Showed a blistering turn of foot to put the race to bed quickly first up. Tricky draw in a big field this time but if CJP can have her close enough with cover on the corner she will be very hard to hold out.

Best Bet Bunbury r2 Petite Le Femme; Beat our girl Angelique’s Fame at the trials by 6 lengths , (granted we were ridden cold , not fit) .Then debuted at Narrogin over 930m where she ran on well into 2nd behind the favourite who had too much speed . Angelique’s Fame then bolted in over the 930m in good time first up. This is a wide open race and the market seems to have missed her at $15. No good thing but worth an each way ticket at those prices.

Best Bet Pinjarra r6 Casino War; Was driven mad out front by an outsider last start who faded out of it but left it a sitting duck . Only went down by a head in the last stride . With a softer lead from good draw she will take some catching. 40/60 each way.

Best Bet Ascot r7 Star Exhibit; The dual Perth Cup winning veteran won this race first up last year off a similar break. His current rating says he has a massive class advantage and his recent trial indicated he hasn’t lost his zest for racing.

Ascot r2 Watch Me Dance ; Don’t usually bet on 2yo’s much but this ones form is too hard to ignore. Won from last over 1000m on debut and showed the same turn of foot late to run 3rd in the magic millions . Back 100m but no Gemma’s Son here and will be hitting the line hard.

Best Bet Ascot r1 Pick Your Battles; Was ridden like the best horse from yet another horror gate last start and proved tactics right by winning easily. From the good draw in a small field can settle closer and run over the top again with it’s superior turn of foot.

Best Value Randwick r8 Moralist; Has won 2/3 first up , from a good stable and handles wet ground. Small play each way at $31.

Best Bet Ascot r7 Patristic; Knows one way ; find the top and run them into the ground. Took a Pike special on a very smart horse to just beat him last time. Drawn to advantage.

Ascot r5 Flower Of War; Maps perfectly to race on speed at a solid tempo with 54kgs. Fav and stablemate maps terribly drawn wide with 60kgs.

Ascot r8 Bobcat Johnnie; Never saw daylight first up. Previous campaign showed above average ability. Missed the big overs it opened but still a nice each way price. The favourite Special Choice may prove to be the best horse but $1.55 first up looks ridiculously short to me.

Ascot r9 Plays the Game; Short enough in the market ($4.80) for a horse that hasn’t won for over two years however have to give one more chance after finally drawing a barrier. Shouldn’t have to do as much work today and looks hardest to beat .

Best Bet Bunbury r3 Come Right Back ; Both it’s 2yo form and recent trial stand out here. 1400m first up from an awkward gate won’t be easy but from top yard with Pike booked to get the job done.

Bunbury r8 Midnight Banquet; Won this track and distance at $91 then just missed at Pinjarra at $31. This race looks easier to my eye and $11 / $3.10 looks great each way value.

Best Bet Ascot r8 Staaden; The fairly new Durrant/Azzopardi combination is working well , especially at the midweeks. Put the writing on the wall first up behind a smart one then blew a weak Geraldton field away. Drawn to get every chance in an even field, it looks a great each way chance to continue to go through the grades.

Ascot r2 Casino War; Has been declaring war on the leaders from wide gates . Found the front last time and was brave to hang on. This is harder but drawn much kinder and if she can find the front again will be hard to catch. 40/60 win place ratio if you like covering your stake with the place.

Best Bet Pinjarra r6 Mr Genoa; This is his stiffest test to date but that is offset by the drop in weight . Add Pike from perfect stalking barrier (3) , distance record (4/4) and first up record (3/4).

Pinjarra r10 King Blitz; Lightly raced 6yo who hasn’t raced since September 2018 so obviously has issues. His one recent trial was a 0.3 length 2nd to Cup Night. Opened $11 and now $7.50 (take in mind a couple scratchings.) Confident he is the best horse in race , might just need a race or two to blow off the cobwebs. Each Way.

Pinjarra r2 Coming Around; Has turned it around since joining the Williams yard . Small field suits and doubt they can match his turn of foot.

Best Bet Bunbury r9 Plays The Game; Hasn’t won a race for nearly 2 years but ran a great race in the Perth Cup. Lane/Parnham combo at his home track in the weakest field he has seen for a while. If he drew a gate I would be super confident but I can’t remember the last time he drew one!

Best Bet Ascot r8 Lipstick Flickers; Although technically up in grade for this first up assignment, she has form around horses that have performed in this grade. She has always trialed like a good horse and maps to get the box seat in an even race. Each way.

Ascot r7 Inspirational Girl; Has been touted as a group performer since day 1. Not sure why the long break between her two dominant 3yo wins and last start 2nd but it was an exceptional run from back in the field. This wont be easy from the draw , especially if the track plays on speed but in Pike we trust. Watch earlier races for pattern before committing.

Ascot Quaddie (r6-9); 3, 7, 4 5 8 12 , field. $60 for 100%

Randwick r1 Away Game ; Only beaten 2 lengths by a very smart one on debut followed by two dominant victories. The latest was in the Gold Coast Magic Millions. Can only presume she is here to qualify for Golden Slipper and is ready to perform again. If she blows in the market then I would leave race alone.

Randwick r7 Alizee; Her first up stats are outstanding. The reports out of the camp are bursting with enthusiasm. I do note synthetic hoof filler in the gear changes so maybe wait to see what the market does. White Moss is trialing the house down and gets a good run on speed. Good saver.

Caulfield r3 High Bridge; Broke a frustrating run of outs last start with a pretty soft win. This field is very similar and the small field suits. Not keen at the price on anything worse than a soft 5 and there are storms predicted .

Best Bet Ascot r5 San Crispino; Only 3 wins from 41 starts but when she gets the right run on speed she generally has a good kick and is hard to run down. Drawn perfectly with jockey Azzopardi very much in form.

Caulfield r5 Shush; Debuted in a group 3, was competitive and spelled. Bolted in on resumption with an electric turn of foot. If it gets a split late will be very dangerous.

Caulfield r7 Our Campana; A mare in hot form and should get every chance from draw. $3,80 looks overs to me.

Randwick r6 Helga; If it gets over from wide draw without busting a gut then should have too much firepower for these. Missybeel most likely tries to run them into ground like last time but that tactic rarely works twice in a row. Hopefully she burns early to allow Helga to slot in.

Sunshine Coast r2 Tunero; Has a racing pattern of getting back and running on late which requires tempo and luck, hence the poor strike rate . However this is a massive drop in class and it just has to go close in a Brisbane class 3 .

Best Bet Moonee Valley r2 Baaqyah ; Big fan of 2yo’s with race experience over debutantes and this one has very strong form.

Moonee Valley r7 Hey Doc; Bit worried about the pressure he is likely to cop , kicking up from barrier 1. Was allowed to dictate in Winterbottom . Keep coming back to his record here at track though and at WFA is the one to beat.

Best Bet Pinjarra r3 Expressionist; Was held up for a run but flashed home late to only be beaten a length on debut. Extra 200m looks ideal.

Pinjarra r4 Western Chant; Tycoon Storm form is good enough for this. Will be up in the firing lane and has 3.5kgs off big danger Goku. Good quinella.
