Best Bet Ascot r10 Baby Blues; Went enormous first up over unsuitable 1000m . Raced a bit flat 2nd up but still got the job done then freshened and another great win over 1200m when only getting out late and storming home. Has had 3 starts at 1400m for 2 wins and a 2nd. $9 is a great each way play for mine.

Best Value Ascot r7 Beauty Kansas; 2/2 at track and distance including last start. Drawn to get gun run , nicely weighted and great “roughy” jockey booked all point to $18 being a good each way bet.

Ascot r5 Mervyn ; Ability wise not sure he is in my top 3. My top 3 are all first up however and over the 1000m he will find the front and try and run them into the ground. Massimo is clearly weighted to win. Odds on first up over 1000m? Willing to take him on at the price. Uni Time absolutely flies fresh . Untried at 1000m and will be a huge effort to run them down with 63.5kgs.Gee Boss loves 1000m and claim suits. $16 is slightly overs for a horse with his ability.

Best Bet Ascot r3 Blackwater Bay ; Doubt anybody missed it’s first up run when taken right back to last and ridden for luck which didn’t eventuate , making late ground out wide under little riding when the race was all over. Full brother to group 1 winner who will get better the longer the distances get.

Best Value Ascot r8 San Crispino ; Very hard mare to catch who seems to have been up forever. Form dropped off for awhile but last couple have been ok in stronger races. Form around King Blitz is strong enough to run a race here at each way prices.

Best Bet Albany r7 Danehill Storm; Finally broke through last start when carrying 60kg from a wide barrier and putting them to the sword. Drawn to lead and control this. Is a proven weight carrier so the extra 1.5kgs to stay in the same class not too concerning. The favourite Sea War looks the obvious danger. Is jumping from a weak maiden to cl2 however so not sure it should be so short. Could entertain boxing the exacta.

Best Bet Kalgoorlie r7 Native Chimes; Started fav in numerous of it’s metro/provincial maidens. Transferred to the Fernie camp who dominate Kal and won softly first go. Ran 2nd to Beret a few starts ago. That form stands out here.

Ascot r9 Ice Trade; Has a short sharp turn of foot that is best suited to today’s 1200m. Both trainer and jockey know this and she looks well placed for her first try away from her home track. Each Way.

Best Bet Ascot r7 Media Baron ; After promising so much as a 3yo this grey is finally living up to his potential. Has gone from a non winner to 4 out of his last 5 , a tragedy beaten in the 1 loss when running 2nd by a nose. This is his toughest test class wise and always need’s a good ride as his pattern is to get back and get up in the last few strides. No one can do this better than his regular rider Paul Harvey and he is weighted to keep the streak going.

Ascot r9 Plutocracy; There’s no doubt the 3yo’s Red Can Man and Laverod will be all the talk in this race. There are several others that can win with the right run including Plutocracy that are big each way prices because of the wraps on the 3yo’s. Red Can Man has to carry 58.5kgs from a tricky barrier. Laverod drops in weight but also comes back 100m. His 2 wins were very impressive to the eye but in fairly ordinary form races. Plutocracy is drawn to get a gun trail camped over the leaders and has a sharp sprint that will be hard to hold out. Suggest 25/75% each way.

Best Bet Albany r4 Miracle Man; Hasn’t done much since winning a 100k listed race as a 3yo. Is however suited at the trip which is a query for most of the others . The Durrant stable have won a lot of races with out of form horses with their willingness to travel far and wide . Dare say he would need to win to stay in the stable for much longer.

Best Bet Ascot r5 Mr Kunafa; Should get the perfect run on the rail from barrier 1, peel at the top of the straight and be in the finish . Suggesting about 40/60 each way split of your stake to make a profit off the place.

Multi/Betfair *short priced favs where I think the odds are justified. Put them in a multi or shop for better on Betfair.

Ascot r9 Tuscan Queen ; Peters/Pike combo have owned 3yo staying features since I can remember. Impossible to see how any filly can turn the Natasha Stakes result around here and then she should continue on to dominate the Derby if racing gets that far.

Best Bet Albany r6 Trade Storm; Dominant track and distance win followed by a close 2nd in an Ascot c1 behind a promising horse. Not unusual to see Trade Fair progeny improve with age and as a lightly raced 6yo has obviously taken time to get right. I am always wary of horses carrying over 60kgs but carried 59kgs at Ascot in harder race. $5.50 each way looks very reasonable.

Best Bet Ascot r1 Queen Brown ; Well related filly who ran a cracker on debut , just failing to catch a talented type. Jockey is in red hot form .

Ascot r8 Confluence; His eastern state’s form is good enough to thrash these. The only negative I can see is his absolute best might be on soft tracks. Fascinated to see the market moves. So far it has shortened from $5 to $3.50 back out to $4.

Multi/Betfair ;

Ascot r4 Son Of A God; Things went horribly wrong last start but the combination of talent and Pike still got him home. This race is no harder , $1.65 for a horse that does a lot wrong is the gamble.

Best Bet Pinjarra r8 Winnie’s Wine ; One of those run on types that always catches the eye. Had to go to Albany to breakthrough narrowly. Next start she nearly ran down Baby Blues who was a $1.50 fav on the day and far better credentialed than today’s rivals. She is bound to be in the finish and $5.50 each way looks a great price.

Ascot r5 Son Of A God; Has always looked talented but very green at the trials. Smashed them first up despite drifting in betting. The form out of the maiden has since failed and there is heaps of speed in this so although clearly the one to beat , odds on is too short.

Ascot r6 Time to Sizzle; Well named as it knows one way , bounce and run . Back to 1000m huge tick and if it finds the front they will have their work cut out catching her. However their is lots of speed in this and odds on is too short as if she cops pressure there are lots of each way chances to pounce late.
