Best Bet Belmont r5 Perfect Jewel; Has beaten the same horses over 1400m and 1600m with a big finishing burst. Those wins were at $31 and $11. I am naturally wary of piling into $3 but she is the best wet tracker in the race and undefeated at Belmont.

Belmont Early Quaddie (r2-5) ; 8, 2 3 6 7 10 , 2 5 7 , 7 8 . $30 for 100%

Thursday Tips

Best Bet Pinjarra r9 Victoriuschino ; She was eye catching late 1st up over 1300m. 2nd up over 1600m she was again strong late, this time winning her maiden running away from them. Staying at 1600m might be some query but she has a race fitness edge over the two at the top of betting. $8 each way looks a good bet.

Pinjarra r10 Wee Ripper ; Doesn’t win out of turn but went close in a stronger race latest run.. Drawn to get every chance . $6.50 each way all day.

Place Multi; $6 for both to place

Pinjarra Quaddie (r7-10); 2 3 6 8 , 3 5 9 10 11 , 5 7 8 , 6 7 8 . $180 for 100%

Best Bet Belmont r7 Marxian ; A progressive stayer who won over 2100m 3rd up should be very hard to beat here. The others have very poor strike rates. Controls it from the front.

Belmont r3 Femme Pussaint; Chesnut mares have a reputation for being crazy and this one does nothing to lessen the theory. She is generally hopeless out of the barriers . She ran a great 2nd despite a tardy start 2nd up in the state behind a short priced favourite who led all the way. If she can jump with them to settle closer then she would be extremely hard to beat. It’s a massive if though!

Weekend Winners

Best Bet Belmont r8 Western Pride; Has been touted as a future star since the day she hit the track. Won all three starts in first campaign very easily then disappeared for over a year. Resumed 2 weeks ago and made it 4/4 with an effortless victory. She was pulling away late so the rise in distance should only suit better and I’m very surprised she is not odds on. ($2.10 currently)

Best Value Belmont r6 Reaction; Only tipping this as a very rough, mainly place chance as it’s one of those horses who waits till it’s big odds then flashes home late into a place from nowhere. The fav in this Son of a God would win this on his ear if you can ignore how bad he was last time but I can’t so I’m going to spec the roughie.

Belmont Quaddie (r6-9); 1 2 3 4 6 10 12 , 1 2 3 4 6 12 , 8 , 3 10 12 . $126 for 100%

Thursday Tips

Best Bet Northam r5 Speedy Miss ; The small field and booking of Pike suits as she is one of those horses who’s run has to be timed to perfection. The race sets up nice for her if your willing to pay Pike tax . $2.40 is rock bottom .

Best Value Northam r7 Megadon ; A horse with a short sharp turn of foot that needs everything to go right and is very hard to catch. $13 is worth a small each way play for mine.

Northam Quaddie (r5-8); 2 3 9 11 , 1 2 3 6 , 4 5 6 8 9 12 , 5 7 . $192 for 100%

Best Bet Belmont r7 Celtic Diva ; This mare is well and truly in the zone . Gets back and steams home over the top. Weight and wide draw no issue. Granted the fav has been racing in slightly better form races however is jumping up 500m for her first attempt at a trip. $5 with $2 place insurance is great shopping.

Belmont r6 Turbo Power; Is racing very consistently this prep. If you can forgive Beat the Bell’s last run then she is the danger. Turbo is more trustworthy and has a very good jockey on.Tonkatuff is a good roughie for novelties.

Belmont r8 Avalon Bay; Easy win latest in similar race. Hard to see it missing top 3 here.

Belmont Quaddie ; field, 8 10 13 , 2 , 6 13 . $96 for 100%

Best Bet Belmont r3 She’s Enchanted; Nearly beat a $1.30 pop on debut despite jumping awkwardly and getting back early. She came out next start and won with the handbrake on in a weak maiden. The fav Bright Diamond has since won very impressively again and 3rd won it’s maiden very easily at short odds. If she can jump cleanly and make use of barrier 1 , she should take some running down.

Best Value Belmont r9 Multiverse; Has a sensational track and distance record (10 starts for 7,1,1) and likes wet ground. Trial was good. No knock on fav except price as untried on wet and prefer over slightly further. $7.50 looks great each way value.

Belmont Early Quaddie (r2-5) 1 4 , 5 12 , 1 2 3 4 , 3 4 10 . $48 for 100%

Thursday Tips

Best Bet Pinjarra r3 Darcelle ; Improved out of sight lately and a repeat of last two runs from the soft draw is good enough to beat these providing the inside is ok.

Pinjarra r8 Daisho ; Pint sized mare who ran well under 60kgs last time. The 3kg claim and good barrier are vital to her chances. Has won twice on soft.

Pinjarra r9 Roman Flirt ; In form mare who has been winning similar races comfortably as late. I see no reason to jump off here.

Pinjarra Quaddie (r7-10) ; 2 5 6 8 9 12 , 1 5 6 10 , 6 , 1 2 7 . $72 for 100%

Best Bet Belmont r4 Wanna Be Good; This runner could be Tom Melbourne’s brother the way he looms into his races then turns it up last 50m. He has backed up off 4 days twice before for a win and a 2nd and this is considerably easier than Saturday so it’s with great trepidation that I make him my best bet on a tough day .

Best Value Belmont r3 Alexis Olympia; Seems to be one of those horses who can run a cheeky race if finds the front on her own terms. Otherwise she punctures quite badly like last time. From barrier 3 she should have a better run and as trialed well since. At $23 it’s just a little spec each way for me.

Belmont r8 San Crispino (PLACE) ; Very rarely wins however nor do the others and is also very rarely far away. With only 51.5kgs on her back she can race near the speed and whack away into the placings at least, small win bet just in case!

Belmont Early Quaddie (r1-4); 2 , field , 1 5 6 7 10 , 1 4 10 . $165 for 100%

Belmont r1 Big Man In The Sky; The good thing of the day based on brave 3rd on debut in a race where the form has been well and truly franked.

Weekend Winners

Best Bet Belmont r5 Laverod ; With the race fitness edge and barrier advantage over logical danger Kay Cee, It’s hard to see him being beaten. The presence of the group 1 winning filly in the field has seen black figures available. Expect it to start odds on by race time .

Belmont r1 Freeze em Off ; The battle with Utgard Loki continues with the scores tied at 1 all. While Utgard is better off at the weights this time I’m banking on Freeze being the stronger 2200m horse. She will come from last again but in a field of 6 won’t have as much ground to make up.

Belmont r7 Son Of a God; Has been freshened for a drop back to 1000m . Although unbeaten over the distance I do prefer him over slightly longer. However fresh and with two speedsters engaged I think he can still finish over the top of him. I suggest waiting for a better price unless he completely blows out.

Belmont r8 Resortman ; Race of the day with the clash of two very promising horses. Hoping the white hot Yuill takes the unbeaten 3yo forward in a race devoid of speed. From there Showanship will have to sustain a very big run to get over the top of him. The market has them locked at $2.10 each. Hopefully the Pike factor see’s our price get out a little.

Belmont Quaddie (r6-9); 1 2 4 6 7 8 , 4 , 7 10 , 2 10 ( 7 11 13 15 16 ) * $24 or $84 for 100%. Looks a very skinny quaddie so wouldn’t spend too much. If you include the value legs in the last leg then I suggest a smaller percentage on the bracketed numbers. If the 10 is right it should win but it is over 12 months since it raced.

No Bravery awards from me today , just looks like a favourites day. If your a multi player I suggest backing them as singles too because 1 always loses!

Best Bet Belmont r5 Nerodio; Sensational trial in preparation for this. Untried at 1000m but if it reproduces the trial effort and gets luck from barrier one then it has them covered ability wise. Stable Secret and Stirling Estate are the 1000m horses should the fav not get there in time however both are hard to catch and good place chances for novelties.

Belmont r7 Showzali; First up off an injury enforced spell was ok . Trainer has since reported she has taken great benefit from the run and is ready to improve. This is a drop in class and drawn to get a gun run.

Belmont Quaddie (r4-7) ; field , 2 , 4 5 6 , *8. $33 for 100%

*one of those races where if I didn’t stand out the 8 I would take the field. I prefer to spend $33 for a chance of 100% then take a very small percentage which is obviously more likely to come in.

Monday Money Makers

Best Bet Northam r4 Doowahdiddy ; Has been solidly supported both starts to date and slightly impeded last time. This is weaker again and should be breaking through.

Best Value Northam r7 Bartrader ; Having his most consistent prep by far and nearly won in Saturday grade at big odds last start. Doesn’t win often but $14 each way seems a good bet for the drop in class. Going by his record more on the place advised.

Northam r2 Protected Action; Thought this fellow would of won a maiden by now. Got too far back first up and made up good ground before peaking late. No good thing but $5 a good price compared to the fav who has trialed well but yet to perform under race pressure. It can win but $2 looks unders.

Northam r6 Pastry; Pike got on last start and it ran a good 3rd in the provincial championship. From barrier 2 with Pike on again it should get every chance.

Northam Early Quaddie (r1-4); 1 2 5 6 , 1 5 , 1 3 5 6 8 , 7. $40 for 100%

Sunday Prayers

Best Bet Pinjarra r2 Miss Malibu : Short enough for a 14 start maiden but their is winning form out of the last start 2nd and really should receive every possible chance in running. Patronize stock usually love wet tracks.

Pinjarra r8 Wild Front; Was run down quite convincingly by Flower of Scotland last start. That mare has won 3 times first up and yet to win 2nd up. Wild Front should find the front again and be hard to run down.

Best Bet Belmont r6 Costa Del Santo; Won very impressively , swooping from the back on a soft 7 two back before striking traffic problems but still attacking the line hard for a close 2nd. Today’ s conditions should suit.

Best Value Belmont r9 Diplomat Express ; These staying races throw up different winners every week. Has had three runs at the track and distance for 1 2nd (last start) and 2 3rds. $31 available in a raffle.

Belmont r5 Double Bubble ; Has won 5/6 on soft and beat higher rated horses than it meets here first up. Will lead and take running down, hopefully the inside is ok.

Belmont r8 Arctic Stream; Don’t mind backing quality stayers that have a turn of foot first up. Has 5 runs at the distance for 1 win and 4 2nds, 5 first up runs for 1 win and 3 2nds. In a great betting race with numerous chances at good odds, small each way play at the $41 will do me.

Thursday Tips

Best Bet Belmont r5 Western Chant ; First up run on soft going was very encouraging in a stronger race. The Lane/Yuill team has been a ATM for followers recently.

Belmont r7 Jaguar Grey ; First go at the mile but has been racing like it will suit , being strong at the end of 1400m. This isn’t a strong race and if she runs 1650m she goes close.

Belmont r8 ; Missing Pro; Speedy 1000m horse that has plenty of ability but can do things wrong , especially at the start. Was on her best behavior last start (unfortunately) , holding our own Angelique’s Fame who was airborne at the time. Wet ground some query.

Belmont Quaddie (r5-8) ; 3 6 10 , 2 3 4 5 6 , 8 9 11 , 3 5 ( 9 13 ) $90 for 100% If you want some extra insurance or value in the last leg 9 + 13 are worth including , perhaps for a smaller percentage.

Best Bet Belmont r2 Venetian Jewel; Everyone with an opinion wants to tip you into the debutante Bright Diamond. Yes it’s trials have been impressive however there was also a lot to like about this girls trial. She has also performed under race pressure, running a close 2nd as a 2yo at her only start . With blinkers going on first time , she is going to get a head start on the favourite .

Best Value Flemington r6 Great Again ; Failed to deliver at his only Melbourne start but his record at the distance in WA (4/6) and wet (6/8 and 2 2nds) is outstanding. Given a break since and trainers horses are flying in both states. Great each way value.

Not overly keen on the Belmont program but have found a few small plays .

Belmont r4 Freez’ emoff ; Giving him another chance to run over the top of Utgard Loki; The fav got a picnic in front last clash and he was still coming on the line. Will again have some ground to make up but the smallish field , long Belmont straight and extra 100m should help. Jockey Kyra Yuill could win on Tom Melbourne the way she is going!

Belmont r6 Sir Mambo; 60kgs after the claim and a wide draw not ideal but I prefer $10 each way for a horse going well over a horse who is first up for nearly a year at $2.05. He does like to run 2nd so maybe split your stake 25/75 accordingly.

Thursday Tips

Best Bet Belmont r7 Adrian Makfi ; It’s last three starts have been 3rd 4th 3rd over this distance at Ascot in much stronger grade. Although this is run at Belmont, it is a transferred Narrogin meeting . Has an awful barrier for an apprentice to overcome but any luck and must be in the finish.

Best Bet Pinjarra r6 Firesale; To be honest Tradensia & Costa Del Santo are most likely better horses . I did however tip Firesale as my best bet last start and it had track bias against , luckless, poorly ridden , take your pick in Saturday grade. All of trainer Brett Pope’s horses grow wings at their home track , the start before this horse absolutely demolished them in a c1 over 1400m despite sitting deep the trip. Drawn to get every chance where as Tradensia has an awkward gate and Costa will give them a big headstart.

Pinjarra r4 Kinder Kinder; Great run on debut in quick time for maidens. From the soft draw if she repeats it she should be beating these.

Pinjarra Early Quaddie (r1-4) ; 3 , 4 6, field, 11 $24 for 100%

Pinjarra Quaddie (r5-8) ; 3 4 6 7 8 11 . 3 , 2 3 5 6 8 9 10 , 4 5 6 10 , $168 for 100%
