Thursday Tips

Best Bet York r5 Trap for Fools; Having a good prep and has more upside than these, will be up on speed and hard to run down.

Ballarat r1 Mr Hamilton; It's debut run only has to be matched/improved slightly to win this.

Gosford r5 Ruler; It's debut was behind very smart horses.  Has trialed well under a hold for return.

Multi ; Trap and Hamilton win, Ruler place $7.07 (tabtouch)

York Quaddie (r5-8); The meeting is dominated by Peter's odds on favs. I remember a similar meeting last year with most of them going down. York is a tricky track, not handled by many horses. If they do all win then the quaddie will be very short.

Wednesday Winners

Best Bet Canterbury r5 Marsupial; Dropping sharply in grade and Bowman rides for top stable.

Belmont r7 Father Knick; Unusual for a Blackfriars to be so effective over 1000m but has too big a sprint for this field.

Belmont Quaddie (r4-7)

1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 , 9, 1 3 4 6 8, 6. $40 for 100%

Sunday Prayers

Best Bet Caulfield r8 Scales Of Justice; If you missed my Futures post you missed the $7.50 on offer as late as last Sunday. Now $3.30, the WA rising star couldn't of been more impressive first up in Melbourne and now gets to a much more suitable track and distance.

Caulfield r2 Quilista; Forgiving last start failure on a wet track in Adelaide where other short priced Weir runners also failed.  Before that ran them off their legs on Debut for Weir ( from WA) and my fav jockey Damien Lane is on.

Caulfield r5 Shoals; Unbeaten and just knows how to find the line first.  Hot fav Catchy will be hard to catch but the value on offer for Shoals is irresistible.

Kalgoorlie r1 Temple Man; Beat hot fav and stablemate on debut.  Meets him again and the prices are reversed as are the jockeys however not as wide differential.

Multi; Scales and Temple Win, Quilista and Shoals place $18.19 (tabtouch) Top tote and top fluc where available might pay slightly more.

Weekend Winners

Best Bet Randwick r6 Chautauqua; Took the grey flash on first up and got it right but not today.  The form guide shows 7th but it was a steaming home 7th that would have been 1st in the extra 100m that it gets today and Redzel isn't there.

Randwick r4 Mackintosh; Hasn't won for a long time and it's Randwick record is terrible, however they have generally been against better opposition and it's first up run was good. Peaks 3rd up today.

Randwick r7 Happy Clapper; Always hard to give weight to the whole field in a group one but after the scratching of Egg Tart it's class stands out like a beacon.  Made Winx earn her latest victory with Foxplay in his wake.

Mornington r5 Toy Boy; Was going to be a bet of the year tip until I looked up the very short price.  Was going to be my best bet Wednesday in a much harder race than this. Multi Banker.

Belmont r4 Pinzu; Beat most of these last start and shouldn't get too far back in the small field.

Belmont r6 Take it Like A Man; I have it down to two main chances with Athlete the other one.  Has a run at the distance, age and Pike to give it the advantage.

Multi 1 Toy boy, Chautauqua , Happy Clapper all win $10 (tabtouch) *you can get slightly better if you shop around or take top fluc etc.

Friday Night Fever

Best BetMoonee Valley r4 Super Too ; Absolute speed demon down from NSW, drawn one over 955m looks very hard to catch .  If leaders win early get on early.

Just the one for tonight, with three days of group one spring racing better pace ourselves.

Wednesday Winners

Best Bet; Rosehill r5 In Times Of War; Has finished in the top two in all 9 starts.  The worrying trend is 7 of them are 2nds.  Has race fitness over some key rivals, can Bowman finally get her to the alter.

Rosehill r7 Mariquita; Has been getting back and hitting the line hard.  A repeat of last two efforts, especially with a clean jump will see it hard to hold out.

Saturday Selections

Best Bet Caulfield r5 He Or She; The clear class runner as indicated by the 61kgs before the much needed 3kg claim.  No certainty but usually improves big time 2nd up and I just think $12 is massive overs.  The negatives would be a hard horse to ride, (generally gets way back, off the bit under pressure before charging late) with an inexperienced apprentice on. Each Way all day.

Caulfield r7 Stampede; Typical tough Waterhouse runner that is rising rapidly through the grades.  Goes up a notch again and is only 2nd up over 2000m but will prove tough to run down.

Rosehill r5 Sully; My early value tip for the Victorian Derby, this horse is as green as grass but when it goes straight it goes fast.  Big test today but has enormous potential. Each Way.

Belmont r2 Money Maher; The "good thing" of the day at a good thing's price.  See it winning better races than this in the near future.

Belmont r8 Diablerie; Was impressed with the ease of it's win last start even though I tipped the 2nd horse!  Can go on with it in similar race.

Multi ; Money Mahar to win into all other tips place. $44.88 (tabtouch)

Wednesday Winners

Best Bet; Cranbourne r8 Villa Rossa; Won on debut then tackled strong listed/group company without much luck.  Oliver rides and will need a good one from gate.

Warwick Farm r1 Epic Rant; Started off in Saturday company and comes here first up after winning trial.

Warwick Farm r4 Social Element; Stayer who is progressing through the grades nicely.  Clearly the one to beat, pretty poisonous odds currently.

Gold Coast r4 Our Nick; Won on debut. Last start was luckless, should of run 2nd and were getting $13 each way in a field of 8.

Kalgoorlie r6 Shibuya Crossing; From leading yard, Pike rides and set to peak 3rd up.

Kalgoorlie r7 Disposition; Has struggled to find best form but that best form would lap these. Three starts ago ran close third to Rock Magic and Scales Of Justice overs today's distance if you don't mind!

Multi; Epic Rant & Shibuya Crossing win, Villa Rosa & Disposition place $10.39 (tabtouch)

Please Gamble Responsibly.

Weekend Winners

Best Bet Flemington r7 Hartnell: Obvious at odds on but $1.80 for the second best middle distance galloper behind Winx in Australasia looks good value to me.

Flemington r1 Jorda; Unlucky 3rd behind Pariah who then ran a clear 2nd behind the best 3yo in Australia Menari looks outstanding form against fillies. Flemington looks like an absolute fill up for fav punters however it is usually a fav's graveyard so be wary.

Flemington r2 Royal Symphony; Boom 3yo of the winter who is unbeaten against weaker but the times and margins suggest it can beat these too.  Very keen.

Flemington r3 Chocolate Holic; Has WA Vega Magic form and looks ready after sitting wide without cover last start and just missing with a long gap to third.

Flemington r4 So Si Bon; First up had to be seen to believe then 2nd up nearly as impressive flashing home from nowhere.  Weights say he is going to be extremely hard to hold out this time.

Flemington r6 Swampland; Arguably should of won last start and has barrier advantage over Oregan's Day to turn the tables.

Randwick r4 Tom Melbourne; His runs in Sydney have been outstanding, the latest a close 2nd to Happy Clapper. Not sure why the early money is for stablemate Comin Through.

Randwick r5 Quinella no's 1 & 2.  Champagne Cuddles simply cannot draw a barrier and for that reason I'm suggesting Tulip is a strong danger but the two look to have a class edge on the rest.

Randwick r7 Redzel; Chautauqua's runs at Randwick have been breathtaking but first up over 1100m when the Everest is clearly the main focus has me thinking that the flying Redzel is going to have a big head start today and is trying to secure his own Everest berth.

Belmont r4 Patrocity; Last two starts has run on hard behind smart horses and looks better value than the fav who is promising but coming out of maiden company. Each Way.

Belmont r5 Saturia; At two career starts has finished in front of and behind the smart Epic Grey.  That looks the right form.

Belmont r7 Dark Prospect; Promising Blackfriar's stayer that hasn't put a foot wrong so far.  Looking for 1600m plus and the form around him is strong for this.

Flemington Multi; Jorda, R Symphony, Hartnell win Chocolate, So Si, Swamp place

Belmont Multi Saturia, Dark Prospect win, Patrocity place.

Flemington Early Quaddie (r2-5) 1, 4 12, 3 4 9, Field ($66 for 100%)

Flemington r4 first 4   3 4 9, S1, S1 1 2 5 6 10, S3.

Wednesday Winners

Best Bet Canterbury r7 Mahalangur ; 2.2 lengths behind Addictive Nature and co in a 150k race should prove too classy here.

Mornington r3 Eureka Street; Has won it's last two in dominant fashion, up in grade but racing too well to go past.

Mornington r4 Falika; Was held up behind smart Oregan's Day first up. Has won 2nd up before and Oliver rides.

Balaklava r6 Lady Esprit; Will get back but first up was 3rd behind Missrock at Mooney Valley.  That form is irresistible here, very keen.

Balaklava r7 Balf's Choice; Weight finally caught up with him last start.  If it didn't flatten him the drop down to 54kg suits and interestingly Pike has gone over to ride.

Belmont r5 Lorentinio; Narrowly beaten last two and will look to lead and be hard to run down.

Best Multi; Mahalangur, Lady Esprit; Lorentinio all to win $13.52 (tabtouch)

Crazy Multi; Balf's Choice and Falika to Place, all other selections to win $116.16 (tabtouch)

Please Gamble Responsibly.

Sunday Prayers

Best Bet Sale r1 Chateau Griffo; Hot maiden but running 3rd behind Limestone and Catchy on debut is the Hottest of the Hot.

Sale r8 Cry If I Want To; Should be ready to peak after a solid effort 2nd up.  Ran 4th in the Bagot last prep.

Muswellbrook r3 Iggy The Moocher; Like following the Baker runners in the bush and was a dominant winner on debut.

Muswellbrook r5 Invincible Bot; Ultra Consistent and drawn to get gun run.

Muswellbrook r6 Majestic Pedrille; Local with plenty of upside who is down in weight after winning impressively at Taree last start.

Kalgoorlie r2 Ice One; Promising debut 2nd, can go one better.

Multi All 6 Selections to place $11.73 (tabtouch)

Weekend Winners

Best Bet Rosehill r8 Tango Rain; Former smart juvenile back to his best last start, spanking them in quick time.

Rosehill r4 Addictive Nature; Worked hard last start before fighting off a smart one for top win in fast time.  Should get easier run and prove hard to beat.

Morphetville r5 Quilista; Former WA speedster who smoked her Melbourne opposition at first start for Weir.  One of three short priced Weir runners for the meeting, would of been my best bet of the year if not for first try on Heavy ground with big weight.

Belmont r3 Money Maher; Very promising and showed explosive turn of foot first up after very impressive trial win.  Stable is on fire.

Belmont r4 Kaapander; Doesn't win out of turn but is always running on and $14 looks overs in this even field.  Each way, more the place.

Belmont r8 Floyd; Speedy type who was run down late first up so with race fitness can hang on this time.

The Following runners are multi only due to short prices.

Mooney Valley r7 Brave Smash; Close 2nd to Vega Magic is too good a form line to ignore.  Be wary of track pattern and first go at tricky circuit.

Doomben r1 Whypeeo; $1.34 says it all, too good for these.

Morphetville r8 Night's Watch; Weir runner unbeaten in Oz.

Win Multi 1 Brave Smash, Whypeeo, Night's Wish, $3.72 (tabtouch)

Win Multi 2 Tango Rain, Quilista, Money Mahar. $8.93 (tabtouch)

Thursday Tips

Best Bet Northam r1 Smoke N Mirrors: Has run 4 2nds in a row over similar distance against similar opposition.  The last couple of winners would start very short here and must shake it's bridesmaid tag today.

Northam r6 Sense of Power; Concede it got every possible chance last start but it still got the job done and is drawn to get gun run again.  Stablemate First Affair is probably more talented but hasn't shown much this prep and Pike rides our selection.

Seymour r7 Black Sail; It's 2yo form reads well for this and came back with a dominant win.

Multi All 3 to win $21.03 and place $2.40 (tabtouch) go heavier on place multi to make a profit either way. Please gamble responsibly.

Wednesday Winners

Best Bet Belmont r6 Woodmans Keep ; On a very tough day this fellow is reasonably consistent and strikes a very winnable race. Each Way

Warwick Farm r6 Social Element; Tough ask coming out of maiden company but only had 3 starts and from top stable.  Has much more upside then the rest of these.

Two Singles only today, Please gamble responsibly.

Sunday Prayers

Best Bet Kalgoorlie r2 Badge of Courage ; Has started fav in city races, ran 2nd in Kal debut and finds perfect race to break through.

Kalgoorlie r3 Raczynksi; Has ridiculous speed and drawn inside, always very hard to catch over this distance.

Kalgoorlie r6 Bollywood Blitz; This horse just keeps raising the bar, loves the track and is dropping in weight.  Each way.

Geelong r2 Sworn Evidence; Impressive debut and has race experience against a lot of first starters.

Multi 1 Badge and Evidence win other two place $15.24 (sportsbet)

Multi 2 change Raczynski to win $37.25 (sportsbet)

Please Gamble responsibly

Weekend Winners

Best Bet Randwick r8 Invincible Gem; It's career record speaks for itself and I'm still getting over it beating my "bet of the Year" Le Romain last start. While this is stronger overall, Le Romain would beat them so have to tip.

Randwick r3 Jaminzah; Form says yes, speed map (what speed!) say's no but when Bowman is riding you just back him to overcome it.  Waller has scr another key hope which points to his confidence with this one.

Caulfield r2 Swampland; The penny has dropped this campaign, last start beating a very heavily backed favourite on it's merits.  Stick with her.

Caulfield r6 Sheidel; First up last prep won the group one Oakleigh plate at this track and distance.  Recently trialed like a rocket, maps well and weighted to win.  Check conditions allow leaders to win as there is word of strong headwinds.

Caulfield r7 Vega Magic; This fellow is developing into a world class sprinter and was breathtaking first up.  One try at 1400m in WA he brained them.

Belmont r5 Pinzu; Got too far back first up and just missed. Similar race and with better timing can run over the top.

Caufield Quaddie (r6-9) 4, 5, 3 8 9 15, field

Multi : All 6 Selections to place , I suggest top tote if you bet with Corporates or tote with TAB.

Please Gamble Responsibly.

Thursday Tips

Best Bet Northam r6 Tow Rope; Has run 3 2nds in 5 career starts, just run down at first try at distance and Pike rides. Today is the day.

Northam r2 Money Maher; 2yo prep saw it run 3rd in the sires.  Trialled against LDR's own STARTTHEFRIAR recently and couldn't of been more impressive, winning under a strangle hold from back in the field.  It is a good things price ($1.40) so use it as a multi banker.

Pakenham r6 Something Violet; While well beaten recently it has been against far superior opposition and a similar effort in this class should be good enough.

Best Multi: Tow rope / Money Maher double $2.94 (tabtouch)

add Something Violet place ($4.55) win ($10.87)

please gamble responsibly

Wednesday Winners

Best Bet Sandown r7 Crocodile Rock; Pretty obvious at $1.85 but I feel that is good value for a horse well respected in Melbourne Cup markets in this class.

Canterbury r4 Taikomochi; Lightly raced Waterhouse runner that is working through the grades nicely.  Will lead which suits Canterbury and be tough to run down again.

Belmont r4 Miss Lawrance; Has run good races on rain affected and record suggests prefers dry so today should be the day.

Belmont r6 General Husson; Honestly thought would be tipping this at $4 or $5 dollars and woke up to $2.10.  Pike factor strikes again but it looks ready and another one desperate for a dry track.

Multi ; All four to win is paying $22.82 (tabtouch) if you bet with corporates a system 2 3 4 is advisable. Bigger bets Singles only.  Please Gamble Responsibly.

Weekend Winners

Best Bet Morphetville r3 Gun Case; Weir places his horses to perfection in Adelaide.  Has winning Melbourne form. Forgive Flemington failure as raced in wrong part of track.  Slight concern it is drifting in the market and been replaced as fav.

Morphetville r8 Balf's Choice; No horse in SA is racing better, worried about big weight stopping him soon but been too good to us not to follow.

Rosehill r1 Lifesaver; Track should suit leaders today and expect Lifesaver to find the front and prove very hard to run down.

Rosehill r7 Condor Heroes; Was a talented 2yo and beat impressive first up winner Menari in a trial recently before a nice 4th under a hold latest trial.

Moonee Valley r4 Sin to Win; Ex Kiwi who loves it soft and maps much better than the other main chances in the race.

Belmont r4 Watto's Fury; After showing good ability as a 2yo it was heavily supported first up and won accordingly.  While this is tougher, natural improvement see's him right in it.

Belmont r7 Double Digit; Currently racing very well and this field is not strong.

Multi; Lifesaver and Sin to Win for win all others place $50.36 (sportsbet) with so many legs to get through a small investment recommended.

All single wins.

Please gamble responsibly.

Thursday Tips

Best Bet Warrnambool r6 Birds of Tokyo; Very suitable race for a genuine wet tracker (heavy 10), who has been racing in stronger company and has the services of D Lane.

Pinjarra r3 Sense of Power; Beaten as a $1.50 pop last start (was unders) and faced with odds on again ($1.95) but this is weak and the extra 200m should help.  Winner from last defeat has since won again.

Pinjarra r6 Mrs Brown's Boy; Won easily here last start and placed to go close again either leading or trailing the 5.

Multi All 3 to win is paying $9.86 (tabtouch)

Please gamble responsibly.
