Friday Fun

Best Bet Narrogin r4 Puck Shapeshifter; Is simply faster and better than these. 2nd fav has great track record but 1100m is too far.

Werribee r6 Von Richter; Comes back to the right grade.

Moonee Valley r3 Invictum Domina; Looks to get a soft lead at best distance.

Mooney Valley r8 Knight Commander; Slight edge with more race experience than undefeated Abyssinian, race in two.

Canterbury r8 So Hard To Catch; Last start proved she is progressing nicely and can take the next step here like her name suggests.

Thursday Tips

Best Bet Pakenham r4 Hapuka; Has the best form of raced brigade by a fair margin.

Yarra Valley r2 Spring Choice; Has some solid  form lines, the rest do not.

Pinjarra r1 Danny George; Trialed along side two first up winners including our very own Startthefriar.

Pinjarra r8 Press The Petal; Lightly raced progressive stayer in the right stable. Has put in two very good efforts this prep and peaks here.

Multi; Something small on all four is paying $32.53 (tabtouch)

Wednesday Winners

Best Bet Ascot r9 Snow Blossom; This mare really has blossomed since changing stables. Back to Ascot after winning a hatrick at Bunbury all in impressive fashion with scintillating finishing bursts.

Ascot r7 Me 'N' Taz; Liked it's first up win when it dominated from the front. Will give them something to catch at each way prices.

Warwick Farm r4 Mazaz; Scratchings have ruined price but easier than last start where it was also unlucky.

Multi; Blossom and Mazaz win , Taz  place $10.11 (tabtouch)

Sunday Prayers

Best Bet Albany r5 Black Freda; Fast finishing 3rd behind Sandalwood at Ascot reads too good for this field.

Friday Fun

Best Bet Moonee Valley r3 Freeze Over; Won in a canter on debut then proceeded to run 2nd to Booker. Exciting times ahead.

York r1 Neurological; Has the best exposed form by a fair margin.

York r4 Startthefriar; More of a sentimental tip with our own runner debuting but if he handles the quirky York track we expect him to be in the finish on his work at home.

York r7 Lowlands Boy; Durrant runner who has shown enough to be a good chance here.

York Jockey Challenge Clint Johnson-Porter; He rides all 3 tips above plus a couple of each way/ place chances. Clearly has the best book.

York Early Quaddie (r1-4); 4, 2 3 5 6 7 8, field, 5. $48 for 100%

Hobart r6 Kugelblitz; Tassy Derby and taking on the Weir juggernaut including odds on favourite with a stayer who bolted in his maiden over 2200m at just start 2. Olly makes the trip to ride.

Weekend Winners

Best Bet Caulfield r4 Last Week; Small field and light weight gives him every opportunity to win again against mostly the same horses.

Caulfield r7 Bedford; Won by 6 lengths at this track and distance last start. Up in class but only has 54kg and will end up the best horse out of these going forward.

Caulfield early Quaddie (r2-5) field, 2 3 4 5, 5, 12. $36 for 100%

Ascot r2 Friar Fox ; Like O'donnell getting back on and in a very competitive race she will be getting home hard. Go each way heavy place.

Ascot r3 Sandalwood ; Hit his straps this prep running on hard and improving each start. Races like 1800m will suit.

Ascot r4 Jackpot Prince; The class stayer in this field by some margin. Only has to handle the weight increase to win again.

Thursday Tips

Best Bet Pakenham r3 Moonlight Ruby ; Had over a year between close 2nd and easy win at 2 career starts. Obviously talented and seven weeks between runs should suit perfectly.

Albany r6 Big Caroline; Consistent mare who seems to have found her favourite track.

Multi; Couple of short priced favs combined with the Perth Scorchers who with national players coming and going look to have this game at their mercy.

Kilmore r2 Hardly Surprising

Muswellbrook r3 Road to Heaven

Perth Scorchers (Big Bash vs Hobart Hurricanes) $4.33 (tabtouch)

Wednesday Winners

Best Bet Ascot r6 Regal Moon; Yes I'm living on the edge, making a horse who has run 4 2nds in a row my best bet but this is the weakest race she has come up against and at $2.20 on a day of odds on favs, gets one last chance.

Ascot Early Quaddie (r2-5) 4 , 3, field 2. $8 for 100%

Ascot Main Quaddie (r6-9) 1, fld, 7, fld $81 for 100%

Heaps of real shorties today here are the ones I think should win;

Ascot r3 Driftstar

Weekend Winners

Best Bet Ascot r8 Gee Boss; tragedy beaten last start when treated like a pinball down the Pinjarra straight. Senior jockey goes on and can repay punters.

Morphetville r2 Andrea Mantegna; Brings strong enough form from over the border to take this out.

Caulfield r9 Morton's Fork; Always shown above average ability and arrives in Melbourne bursting to win a race after two strong run on efforts this prep.

Multi The 3 above with Ascot r2 Kiss The Breeze $16.32 (tabtouch)

Aussie Snaggers

Best Bet Warwick Farm r6 Cordero; While it jumps in class, it drops in weight and is building an impeccable record especially at the track and distance.

Beaudesert r6 Aqua Delago; Suited by the drop back to 1200 and will be hard to catch.

Moonee Valley r3 Belwazi; Bounced back to form and stays at it's fav track and distance. If it crosses from awkward gate will take catching.

Bunbury Quaddie (r5-8); With Sentimental Friend (r6) and You Am I the best on the program but too short for my liking we will stand them out in quaddie instead.

1 7, 5, 1 2 3 4 5 6 8 9 , 5. $16 for 100%

Short Fav's Multi ; These are very hard to lob but we will have a crack anyway. I suggest top tote if you bet with corporates.

Wednesday Winners

Best Bet Pinjarra r8 Great Again; Has been freshened after failing to get the job done as an odds on fav at Ascot in December. Very hard to beat back in this grade.

Benalla r2 Chloebell; Ran on ok last start off a very slow tempo. This is a very weak race and if she is going to progress further she should be winning.

Gold Coast r3 Alleviator; Trial performances, especially times indicate it will be hard to beat on debut at home track against limited opposition.

Ballarat r3 Roobeena; Trained by leading 2yo Stable and ran a very encouraging 2nd at Flemington on debut. This is not easy with loads of potential in the race but has to be hardest to beat.

Multi; Something small on all 4 to win at $31.85 (tabtouch)

Multi : Something

Weekend Winners

Best Bet Flemington r4 Addison ; Breeding and racing pattern suggest this lightly raced 4yo will love the 2000m and should add to it's already brilliant strike rate.

Flemington r2 Last Week; Couldn't get past heavily backed stablemate last start but beat everything else comfortably. Positive jockey change and has upside.

Doomben r5 Tarzan; Very speedy type with solid record who should be very difficult to get past.

Ascot r2 Jackpot Prince; Promising young stayer who gets to 2100m 2nd up in a very winnable race if ready.

Ascot r4 Friar Fox ; Has shown a big turn of foot at both career starts. This is biggest test but $8 each way is very nice to my eye.

Ascot r5 Taxadermy; Lightly raced 7yo going for 5 in a row. Won with arrogance first up and can handle the step up each way.

Wednesday Winners

Best Bet; Warwick Farm r4 Witches; First run for new stable was impressive, winning with a fast finishing burst. This looks just as winnable.

 * Moe r3 Lord Mornington; Yet to put in a bad run and is placed to break through.

* Moe r4 Don't Dismiss; Likes to lead and only caught late in a 58. Back to maiden grade makes him hard to catch.

* Moe r5 Mister Jay; Was heavily backed and won accordingly on debut. Can progress further.

* There has been solid early support for rivals in all 3 moe races so a market watch is advised. I still like my selections but money talks.

Ascot r2 Silver Roller; Made a mid race move and bolted in at first try at a trip. Was a weak race but has a master trainer of stayers and this field isn't vintage either.

Strathalbyn r8 Scarlett Fox; Dropping in grade, has good track & distance stats and powerful trainer/jockey combination.

Multi Witches , Silver Roller dbl is paying $4.94 (tabtouch)

Weekend Winners

Best Bet Gold Coast r9 Viddora; Has raced very competitively against the best sprinters going around. Races well fresh and has a big class edge here.

Gold Coast r1 Dinnigan ; Ran 2nd to Pierata in a group 3 then lobs here as an odds on fav in a maiden.

Gold Coast r6 Care to Think; His racing pattern often gets him in a pickle but he is going so well he still wins. He has a horror gate but is too talented not to tip.

Gold Coast r7 Pierata; Vets have cast a doubt on his soundness pre race which is very concerning when tipping a hot favourite. I can only assume if he is still in the field he is 100% and if that's the case he will go almighty close. A star in the making.

Quaddie (r6-9) 3 8 11, 1, 1 2 11, 3. $9 for 100%

Ascot r1 Friar Away; Put the writing on the wall last start flooding home in a similar race.

Randwick r8 Sugar Bella; Mare on her way to bigger and better things than this lot.

Multi Dinnigan, Sugar Bella and Viddora all win $6.80 (tabtouch)

Wednesday Winners

Best Bet Sandown r7 Belwazi ; Will need every bit of 3kg claim with 60.5kg still to carry but is a 1000m specialist, winning 4 from 6 career starts. It's latest 2nd should of been a victory also.

Quaddie (r5-8)

1, 3 4 5 7 8 9 10 11, 1, 1 2 6 11 16 17 $48 for 100%

Bunbury r3 Secret Nights; Patient owners with a 6yr old having it's 3rd start. It's 2nd start was 3.3l 4th at this track and distance and this field is as weak as it gets.

Bunbury r4 Stafford's Lad; Has raced well at two career starts and looks ready to go one better with added fitness and lack of opposition.

Early Quaddie (r2-5) 8, 5 13, 4 , 1 3 4 6 7 8 9 10. ($16 for 100%)
