Best Bet Geraldton r6 Blankenberge; Going for 4 in a row at this track and distance. Although technically up in class it’s still prety much against the same horses but dropping 2kg in weight. Can’t see it not being in the finish from barrier 1.

Best Bet Pinjarra r3 Playing Red ; Playing God filly on Debut for team Durrant. Trials have been solid enough for this . Hopefully Pike can negotiate the tricky gate.

Best Bet Ascot r7 Media Baron ; After promising so much as a 3yo this grey is finally living up to his potential. Has gone from a non winner to 4 out of his last 5 , a tragedy beaten in the 1 loss when running 2nd by a nose. This is his toughest test class wise and always need’s a good ride as his pattern is to get back and get up in the last few strides. No one can do this better than his regular rider Paul Harvey and he is weighted to keep the streak going.

Ascot r9 Plutocracy; There’s no doubt the 3yo’s Red Can Man and Laverod will be all the talk in this race. There are several others that can win with the right run including Plutocracy that are big each way prices because of the wraps on the 3yo’s. Red Can Man has to carry 58.5kgs from a tricky barrier. Laverod drops in weight but also comes back 100m. His 2 wins were very impressive to the eye but in fairly ordinary form races. Plutocracy is drawn to get a gun trail camped over the leaders and has a sharp sprint that will be hard to hold out. Suggest 25/75% each way.

Ascot Quaddie (r6-9); 1 2 4 5 7 12 , 6 , 1 7 , 8 9 . $24 for 100%

Thursday Tips

Best Bet Albany r4 Miracle Man; Hasn’t done much since winning a 100k listed race as a 3yo. Is however suited at the trip which is a query for most of the others . The Durrant stable have won a lot of races with out of form horses with their willingness to travel far and wide . Dare say he would need to win to stay in the stable for much longer.

Albany r5 ; GO ANGELIQUE’S FAME !!

Exacta ; 2 5 , 1 2 5 9 .

Boxed 1st 4 ; 1 2 5 9 .

Albany r7 Cleo’s Afterparty; Good each way price for a locally trained, in form Wolfe runner . Claim gets it down to 52kg.

Best Bet Ascot r1 Queen Brown ; Has shown above average ability in her two starts to date. Would not be out of place in Saturday’s Karrakatta Plate . Her racing pattern suggests 1400m will be ideal .

Multi/Betfair ;

Ascot r7 Beret; Normally $1.60 for a last start maiden winner would be poison. Add Pike and most favourable speed map and it’s about right. On a very tough program these two shorties will have to do.

Ascot Quaddie (r7-10); 5 , 1 2 3 5 8 10 11 13 , 1, 1 2 3 5 6 7 8 11 12 15 .$80 for 100%

Monday Money Makers

Best Bet Pinjarra r6 Confluence; If it runs up to it’s recent Victorian form , it wins. There was enough money for it pre post before the race was abandoned Wednesday to suggest it is going well.

Pinjarra Quaddie (r9-12); 1 4 5 6 8 10 , 3 , 1 4 9 10 11 , 2 3 8 $90 for 100%

Sunday Prayers

Best Bet Geraldton r8 The Full Quid; Was unlucky not to break through in strong metro/provincial maidens last prep. Destroyed them first up this track. Way better value than the favourite who has to lump 62.5kgs .

Geraldton r3 Truly Gold; Looks ready to peak 3rd up over a suitable trip. 3kg claim for a talented apprentice makes this gelding look extremely well placed.

Best Bet Ascot r5 Mr Kunafa; Should get the perfect run on the rail from barrier 1, peel at the top of the straight and be in the finish . Suggesting about 40/60 each way split of your stake to make a profit off the place.

Multi/Betfair *short priced favs where I think the odds are justified. Put them in a multi or shop for better on Betfair.

Ascot r9 Tuscan Queen ; Peters/Pike combo have owned 3yo staying features since I can remember. Impossible to see how any filly can turn the Natasha Stakes result around here and then she should continue on to dominate the Derby if racing gets that far.

Fill The Bank Friday

Best Bet Albany r6 Trade Storm; Dominant track and distance win followed by a close 2nd in an Ascot c1 behind a promising horse. Not unusual to see Trade Fair progeny improve with age and as a lightly raced 6yo has obviously taken time to get right. I am always wary of horses carrying over 60kgs but carried 59kgs at Ascot in harder race. $5.50 each way looks very reasonable.

Wednesday Winners

Best Bet Ascot r1 Queen Brown ; Well related filly who ran a cracker on debut , just failing to catch a talented type. Jockey is in red hot form .

Ascot r8 Confluence; His eastern state’s form is good enough to thrash these. The only negative I can see is his absolute best might be on soft tracks. Fascinated to see the market moves. So far it has shortened from $5 to $3.50 back out to $4.

Multi/Betfair ;

Ascot r4 Son Of A God; Things went horribly wrong last start but the combination of talent and Pike still got him home. This race is no harder , $1.65 for a horse that does a lot wrong is the gamble.

Sunday Prayers

Best Bet Bunbury r5 Eurasia; It’s last 4 starts have resulted in 1 win and 3 2nds at Ascot. This is a big drop in class and I expect Harvey to get the job done.

Bunbury r1 Jakestar ; Should control this from the front and with the run under it’s belt , break the frustrating run of 2nds.

Best Bet Ascot r9 Paddy’s Shadow ; Race wasn’t really run to suit last time but she still sustained a long run and won dominantly. Very similar field here so if she can handle the extra 2kgs (59kgs) and get a cart into it she should prove very hard to hold out.

Ascot Quaddie (r6-9) 1 2 3 9 , 2 3 , 1 3 5 6 10 , 1 4.$80 for 100%

Golden Slipper ; Away Game ; Fantastic betting race with chances galore. $16 each way for the magic millions winner who was very brave in the Blue Diamond against the pattern. Tough 2yo drawn to get a great run for proven big race rider. Is $3 fav on the tote fri night hence might be an idea to get on now.

Thursday Tips

Best Bet Pinjarra r8 Winnie’s Wine ; One of those run on types that always catches the eye. Had to go to Albany to breakthrough narrowly. Next start she nearly ran down Baby Blues who was a $1.50 fav on the day and far better credentialed than today’s rivals. She is bound to be in the finish and $5.50 each way looks a great price.

Betfair/Multi * My two selections today are currently under the odds so I suggest waiting, taking a top tote multi or shop for better on Betfair.

Ascot r5 Son Of A God; Has always looked talented but very green at the trials. Smashed them first up despite drifting in betting. The form out of the maiden has since failed and there is heaps of speed in this so although clearly the one to beat , odds on is too short.

Ascot r6 Time to Sizzle; Well named as it knows one way , bounce and run . Back to 1000m huge tick and if it finds the front they will have their work cut out catching her. However their is lots of speed in this and odds on is too short as if she cops pressure there are lots of each way chances to pounce late.

Best Bet Ascot r7 Cryptic Wonder;SCRATCHED

Ascot r6 He’s A Gunslinger; Likely pacemaker and in that scenario he will be hard to run down at the bottom of the weights. Dominated an easier race from the front last start and the runner up has since won.

Best Bet Ascot r8 Truly Great ; Was first up for 400 days when ran on for 2nd when it had every conceivable chance. A little wary of a flat one 2nd up but this stable rarely send them round for fun. Drawn perfectly for “Pike in the Last “ fans.

Ascot Quaddie (r5-8) ; 1 10 , 2 3 4 5 6 7 11, field , 8 . $126 for 100%

Sunday Prayers

Best Bet Bunbury r8 Arctic Stream; On current form looks to have a stranglehold on this years Bunbury Cup. Brings listed city form and is 1/1 at the distance . Bunbury is also his home track where he is 3/4.

Bunbury Quaddie (r6-9) 2 3 , 2 3 , 3 , field . $32 for 100%

Friday Fillers

Best Bet Albany r2 Lady Nobel ; Was solid on debut at Narrogin where despite beaten over 2 lengths made a run at the winner / fav out wide on a day it was advantageous to be on the rail. This is a very weak race and our good friend and Lucky Duck trainer going all the way to Albany with one horse is a strong sign of stable confidence.

Best Bet Bunbury r1 Jakestar; Yet to run a bad race and was given a lovely quiet trial behind our girl Angelique’s Fame . The favourite Native Chimes obviously hardest to beat but has had a few chances and is mixing it’s distances.

Bunbury r3 Not My Fight; Raced competitively in decent 2yo races then wasn’t disgraced first up in a harder race. Fav Giant Leap is ridiculously short like most Pike/Peters horses are ,big watch on first upper Mr Delegator from red hot Tiarnna Robertson stable.
